Description Just a sketch of Corryn I did the other day that I really liked.  c:

I'm so much happier now with how I draw feet... but there's a lot of other things I've still got to work on, hahah!

(He's kinda too handsome though, whoops;; )

I've been doodling with pencil now and again but can't say I really like 'em much yet.  :s

le hawt! But wow you do... feet so well. They're such an awkward part of the body, it's so hard to make em look right! But you nailed it D: DEM SCARS DOH

Ahahahah, I actually had a professor grill me about my inability to draw feet and she sat me down and made me break down their structure 'till I finally understood 'em, so now I can draw feet!  xD;;  But thank you so much, aahhhh~

i bow to your mastery of feet! I can fake it with triangles and quadrangles, but as soon as we get into toes my feet start looking like cuttlefish, haha
Really like corryn's pose and expression too

Pahahahahah, I actually had my comic professor from DCAD chew me out on the fact that I didn't know how to draw feet, she spent a whole class or two with me just walking me through the structure until I finally, finally understood how to draw the darned things~ xD;  So useful!  Just gotta really study 'em, you'll figure it out~!

But thanks so much, I'm really quite proud of this piece (and my feet-drawing skills now), hahah!  <3

the hands and feet look a wee bit small to me, but structurally they look great C:

Ahhhhh yeah, the proportions do all get kinda small as you move down, still a problem of mine... xD  But thank you~!  I'm so glad to hear (and see) that the feet I draw are finally looking like feet~ xD

what trick with the ladies?!?  I don't think he even gets any, he's too busy harassing Seth... Unless you mean me and a few other people who watch my work, in which case I'd have to say... it's just that psycho charm, I think.  <:'D  (And perhaps a bit of the dirty urchin/orphan look??  LOL)

Hehehehe. It's funny how being handsome/beautiful IRL takes extra work, but with art, creating 'ugly', flawed-looking people is much harder..

I'm guessing that top right foot is also Corryn's? Just making sure~ The feet do look nice + how the fingers are wrapped around the ankles. :>

Laitma In reply to 47ness [2013-11-15 07:12:09 +0000 UTC]

Ahhhh thanks so much, I'm so happy my one comic professor grilled me about feet and made me break 'em down structurally until I finally understood how to draw them--now, I just need to stop procrastinating and apply that technique to the rest of the human anatomy, hahah!

But yeah, that is REALLY hard too, it's so weird how idealized imagery is a lot easier to create than realistic imagery sometimes... @_@

(Oh and yeah, that's another Corryn but I didn't like him as much so I cropped that out, hahah!  I have pages full of Corryns sometimes..)

47ness In reply to Laitma [2013-11-15 07:41:24 +0000 UTC]

Hehe, well, idealized characters are smooth-skinned, unblemished porcelain dolls. A real-looking person, regardless of age, would have some wrinkles, spots, stray hairs, and PORES. That takes a little extra effort, whether or not it's appreciated by society at large.

Laitma In reply to 47ness [2013-11-15 09:01:50 +0000 UTC]

PORES, ohgod.  I don't even want to think about having to render something like that... xD

47ness In reply to Laitma [2013-11-15 09:38:42 +0000 UTC]

It's really easy in Photoshop; just use a small custom brush with scatter turned up to 200% & spacing turned up to 400%. Speckles!

Then there's additional advanced tricks to make it look photo-real, but that above is the general idea.

Laitma In reply to 47ness [2013-11-15 17:20:58 +0000 UTC]

Uoooh, I'll have to keep that in mind, thanks!  I've never really figured out how to play with the brush settings like scatter, so~ @_@
