A watercolor sketch of LieLie that I'm actually kind of proud of-! (Guess who read another Charles Reid book again, every time I do I'm inspired to try and work on my watercolors a little more~!)
Anyway, LieLie on the battlefield. She's peaceful by nature, but the TaoTie in her feeds on the spirits (that leave one's body in death), so she finds herself haunting battlefields rather frequently, and getting caught up in fights. Of course, not everything she does is in self-defense, either, so she still feels some regret...
This was just done on some cheap 80lb drawing paper, but that stuff tends to hold watercolor very well on its own~ fun fun~ c:
(pssst, I might also be wanting to start Lielie's story in comic form soon-!!!)

Colors are still super-hard to get harmonious in traditional media (and digital too, really!) but I'm trying my best to work on it, hmmmmm~ <3<3<3 Thaaank youuuuuuuuu~!

I mostly just said things that I'm pretty sure were probably mentioned by now: That this was a surprisingly soothing piece compared to the other Lielie pictures you had done til then and about the nice little details.

Actually no, by all means ask away!! This is my newest story and there's a ton I'm still mulling over/trying to figure out, so really, feel free to ask! A comic by me is probably going to move at a glacial pace anyway, s-so... 8D;;;
But yeah, asking me questions really helps me world-build--I don't mind at all! C:

-how did spirit choose lielie. Did she stumble over his grave or find a magic amulet or something? Is she a reincarnation of someone? If she's a peaceful person, that's not an optimal vessel choice for a death-eating warrior spirit.
-why did it rip off her jaw, that is a dick move
-shanshan. this isn't a question i just want to snuggle a water buffalo and its all your fault.
-is she an expert fighter or does the spirit take over to fight?
-when do the horns come out?
-does she/spirit have an overall goal or purpose, or just sustaining on souls?
That's all i got for now, but i'm sure i'll have more!

LMAO yeah that was a pretty dick move, but the TaoTie had been through a loooong drought without any sacrifices/spirits to sustain it, so it wasn't very picky. Poor Lielie just stumbled onto it by accident, and it kind of, erhm, tore her jaw off on its way down her throat, ahahah. Whoops... 8D;;
And she's not much of a fighter at all, so her attack method is pretty brute force (and often just in self defence)! The TaoTie does lend her some power and guidance, though, and takes over more and more of her body as time goes on... (The horns are still a debateable attribute but if they did appear it'd definitely be as time went on! I wanted them to be a permanant thing if they did happen too, retracting horns aren't my thing xD)
The TaoTie translates to "glutton". It just demands more and more energy, and it's slowly taking over LieLie's body, sooo...
