Hah! I tried a few times before and didn't like the results. There weren't enough lights and yeah...the escalator was shaking so much.

The key is to find an elevator with, preferably interesting lights in the backround(for the blur effect) shoot it on a tripod first with a slow shutter >3seconds and then take another asap after that a faster shutter like 60th then composite the head. It's not perfect but it works
