Emilia Fox as Morgause from the BBC TV series Merlin.I looooved this character, so I just had to paint her! Yeah yeah, I know I've just been doing fanart lately, but I've discovered how fun it can be!
Morgause wasn't really a girly character, but I've done this image in purples and pinks all the same. Really though, not only can she kick Arthur Pendragon's ass in a swordfight, but she's also a powerful sorceress.
I've used a chainmail texture here, and the rest is just boring old digital paint. I keep forgetting to mention, but I've been using high pass filters lately to make my images look sharper.
No artistic breakthroughs here. Just portrait and paint practice.

The face seems detached, maybe trailing some hairs down in front of it might make it look more...real. Also, her lips look weird. Is she making a face of some sort?

I didn't actually catch Merlin when it was on TV here. It was one of those shows that looked interesting, but I never really sat down and bothered to watch. I torrented it awhile back because I needed some TV, and I'm glad I decided to!

I have to agree with thetypofairy. Head looks a little lopsided, specifically her left side of her face. The eye seems set a little too deep and the...what do you call those, laughter lines? Creases by the mouth? It just seems a bit too heavy, even for a tough woman.
I do love how well put together it is, though. The shine on the armor, the textures, the seamlessness.

I can't quite tell if the lopsidedness is my fault or not. Here's my reference image [link] She really does have those deep laughter lines, and the eyes are because of the heavy make up the actress wore.

Well, then you matched the picture! ...Not a very flattering one they did of her. I hate that everyone actually has a "good side" and a "bad side." Except the plastic people, but no one cares about Megan Fox.

But yeah, the actress I've painted sometimes looks awesome, and sometimes looks a little weird. Either way, I think she's fascinating looking and I love the character she was playing!

Lol. Well, I'm not sure either... I wouldn't be surprised to find out it's all her genetics. :3 I don't have a tv, and I never remember to hulu things, so I couldn't actually say one way or the other, but even if it is your fault. (*threatens with rolled up newspaper*) her hair is still great. ^^

There are characters in a children's book called "Snugglepot" and "Cuddlepie" here. I think both names can be applied to Merlin because he's so vulnerable-seeming and littleish and you just want to cuddle him and pat him on the head and... I swear, I'm not a weirdo.
