Tool: Corel Painter IX
A very very puny "step2step" of Gratitude
Some people asked me for a tutorial, but.... I don't know how and what to explain. Seems my painting methods are so general, just like everybody's tutorial
gonna move it to scrap soon
Sorry, I explained it just like a watercolored-picture tutorial -__- because I read more traditional-art tutorials and for CG, I only watched Eventfiles
Please give your comments and suggestions about what kind of tutorial I should make or what should I write. I hope someday I'll be able to make better tutorial

step to steps can be very helpfull since if you have a basic knowledge of paint you can see what you do to make the picture. so it is very much like a tutorial for me, i love this. i also think the picture is beyond amazing @A@ *drools*

I use Corel Painter Essentials 3.
Is that an extremely outdated version of what you use?

since I've never use cp essentials, I'm not quit sure about the difference
I got cp essentials 2 but I've never use it
got it free along with tablet driver instaler, maybe I'll give it a try someday

goodness these are so wonderfully helpful! especially to those new to digital as i am, (just got a tablet last christmas and had a semester of school to do before i could really explore it o_O) how exactly do you choose what colors blend to make the effect you want? experience? chance? common sense?

choosing colors is 100% sense and experience
just brush the colors you want, it's ok if it failed, you can try it again and again

That's a common thing otherwise we couldn't differ between basic color and it's Highlight. (could cause an eye sore)
I know a spesific H-artist who put shadow first then highlight, then basic color. I Swear that coloring technic made me crazy. but it really works!!
Anyhow, I ussualy Basic>shade>innershade>overlay.
