Ally Star -
The first one
As all starts, I wanted an alicorn oc, because of course I wanted. But she wasn't born an alicorn just because, no.
Thebstory was that her parents are an inicorn and a pegasus but they have super strong genes. For example the mom, a unicorn, had a unicorn mother, who had a unicorn father, who had a unicorn father, etc. There basicaly can be a line of unicorns traced for a long time. Even if a spouse wasn't a unicorn, at least one of the chopdren was, and it had a unicorn baby. Same for the pegasusu dad. So when it came to Ally, thebgenes got REALLY confused so they just kinda merged. She isn't much of a alocorn in the mlp sense, but just a unicorn with wings (her magic was equal to a normal unicorn, that is).

The first redesign
This design came about when I started thinking about getting a deviantart account, still back when I did a lot of trace stuff, but when I started drawing on my own. I barely have art work of her on my page, and I could only find one piece with Color and I remember it was a trace and I just added wings on it (I think it was from back when i was obsessed with fuyusfox so I probably traced from them) but a couple weeks after I found out that posting traced artwork wasn't cool, so I deleted all my traced art (like 3 posts At the very start)
The only reason why I found this one is because I posted it on a status and it isn't on my main gallery. She had the same story as Ally, but now because of the curly hair, she felt closer to my appearance (as much as a bright aqua pony with purple hair can).

Ochean Sky -
The first purple
Ochean was the first time I heard the definition that a sona should look like your real life appearance, but that yoi could make adjustments to have a cool design, and yhe first thing I thout was "I'm not gonna give this oc tan skin, to make it more original" (little did I know just the amount os purple ocs with brown hair there were) like there is a strange amount of those???)
Back then I used to go to dance classes and my mom would die colored streaks in my hair every year, as such, my hair always had bleached highlights That translated into the swirls for the hair, BUT at the same time my mom jad decided it was best to let me grow out the highlights.
Cutie marks were a real problem for me (and still are) so back then I just did the obvious for an artist and had a pencil.(Btw, Ally had a rainbow Star with wings (stolen from fuyusfox again) and petal had a white star with differently colored tips and swirls in the center)

The I don't have highlights anymore
That was basically my reason for redesigning her. Again I was at the thought that a sona should almost COMPLETELY resemble yourself (and I did judge people who didn't have their sonas with their real life appearances Thought I never voiced those ideas, because I knew ot was something that wasn't WRONG, but for me just wasn't right)
2016 Lapis also had braces, though I never drew them (she always had her mouth closed (not on purpose I just didn't draw an open mouth)) and wore a necklace That I made with a little glass pot with nair decorations in it, and wore every day for about 2 months, then I stopped using it. Then I decided that I didn't NEED, to have my oc follow every single trend I had irl, else I'd be doing a new ref every month.

The desaturaed
Remember Injust said I didn't need to have my oc follow every trand of mine? Forget that because when I cut my bangs I had to have my oc match.
She had so far the most complex ref, with numerous hairstyles, with included filly version manes And formak hair styles, etc.
She also had her purple coat less saturated, I have no idea why.
Her cutie mark also changed. But not much. It was now a pencil with a single lined swirl.

2018 Lapis Doddle -
The Limbo
I forgot to draw one of the designs, yay!!
But don't worry, basically we go back to Ochean, but with a different cutie mark and no swirls in the hair. The cutie mark was just the same as the following Laps' but brught green yellow and pink.

2018 Laps
I finally found out sonas didn't HAVE to look like oneself, so I revamped my sona completely, to something that would replesent me, but didn't have to keep up with my ever changing appearance. I don't quite remeber what my process in designing her was, but I rember at The end I felt she was too plain? But because I really LOVED the colors, it would have to do. And I do still love the grays.

2019 Laps
The first to last a year
After the previous Laps, I remembered I really wanted a fluffy horse, because I could, and no one could stop me, so I did.
This is the only design to trully last a year.
And it hits pretty much a lot of what I like in a design. Fluffy all over Simple markings and simple colors. I like simple for me.

2020 Aspen
The big baby
Aspen! My love. The first one ti have more of an actual perosnality trait ither than "that is me". You mught know this, but she is part of what will be my quartet of sonas the horse, the dog, the cat, and the bird. Each representing a main emotion Aspen's emotion is sadness so she is very sensitive, and even if she doesn't cry, be awayre that the feelings are there only ti spill over later.
Her design is the most based on an actual horse breed, the dutch draft. And I absolutely love them!
Therr isn't much to say about the Design process that I remember. I had yhe references on the side and just played around with it. Color was certainly the part that took the lingest to figure out, since I wanted something with a bit more complexity to it, but still wanted ti keep simple, so I could draw her Without a reference most of the time. And so far, I've forgotten very little of her design (for example this time I forgot what color the gradient on her legs was, oof)
Anyway, I love Aspen, I hope she lasts for a ling while.
