In due time the sun will shineThe birds will sing
And one day I’ll have your ring.
In due time I know you will be mine.
But I have to be patient because you are a great find.
We are both young and have a lot to give.
So baby let’s take our time and just live.
In due time we will be together.
We both have some growing-up to do
But I just don’t want to lose you.
In my heart I feel like this is the end.
That me and you will never be together again.
But my love for you won’t go away,
And no matter how pissed off at you I am,
I will always ask you to stay.
In due time
I won’t pine for you.
I won’t chase you.
Because I’m tired.
I know my heart wants to keep hoping…
Hoping that you’ll give me a chance.
But now it seems that you won’t even give me a glance.
In due time things will happen.
I’m not gonna rush…I’m not gonna pressure you.
All I can do is be myself
And if that’s not enough….
Well…that’s just too tough!

I know exactly how this feels....you have a great abilitity to express the true feeling behind someone I espescially like the last lines:
In due time things will happen.

Portia, you put things so well in your poetry that it is always a joy to read. Even the dark stuff... so good.
This shows the greatness of the human heart in love... able to embrace those who won't (can't) acknowledge that they are being loved by someone, and someone who understands that not having that love returned eventually means that, even though you love them, you can't hang on forever, and that you have to be you. (wow, that sentence structure sucks!... sorry) I think you get my meaning tho...
