Description
I wanted to play a Quarren in a Star Wars game a few years back, but the GM wanted to run a Jedi game, and Quarrens suffer a -2 Wisdom, so that wouldn't have worked very well.Related content

Quarrens don't get enough love. Always over-shadowed by the Mon Cals. While not my favorite Star Wars species (that honor belongs to the Duros), one of my favorite characters from an old fan fic series I was doing was a Quarren Seperatist Assassin turned Mercenary.
Your boy's got some wonderful textures on his, but I'm curious...are the green stripes by his eyes tattoos or scars?

Sounds like it was an interesting character.
As for the scars, I have no idea what color their blood is, but I thought maybe they used some sort of algae ointment or something, so it turned the scars green.

I must say you've done a very good job capturing the texture of this fellow's skin. You can almost reach out and feel the rough, semi-slippery surface. That said, I think it could use a few sharp highlights closest to the top left, where your apparent light source is. I also think a bit more of the green from the background into the flesh tones may add a little more depth to the piece as a whole, but I could be wrong about that. I see you've already brought some of those colours into the flesh tones.
Nice work overall.

this is so grotesque and i love it. Definitely something i would run the hell away from if i saw it. The cut section of his tentacle looks great, nasty and woundish. I love how you colored the flesh, looks gnarled and squishy. Great work.

Thanks - I was experimenting with some new stuff, wanted the skin to look leathery, lumpy, and spongy at the same time. Sounds like I was successful.

Very good picture. I love the scarring, and it's very realistic looking.

Yeah, most characters I see are too "pretty," and I wanted to make this guy look like he's been through a lot and kept coming back. He learned his lesson of how not to suck on a thermal detonator the hard way.

Yeah, on a lot of "teams" in comics and movies, the "leader" is a good looking, vanilla character, while the other characters are more dynamic and have more character, because they don't have to follow the "ideal" model. This character was designed to be "ugly," because he had to learn to survive on more than his looks.

I'm not too familiar with Star Wars bestiary... but this is one freaky looking dude! As always, great job with the details and the shadows.

They showed one of these people in Jabba's palace. They're usually tough-guy brutes from the same planet as the Mon Calamari fish people.
