Mudpaw's ears are larger than most cat's ears, so he can hear very well. However, when Silverkit and Hawkkit were wrestling with him, they would let out screeches, and loud meows, causing his ears to ring, and bleed. He spent a lot of time with Leafstep and Specklefeather due to his ears. None of the other Kits or apprentices came near him because their parents told them not to. The warriors even stayed away from the timid kit. they would only talk to him if they absolutely had to. even when they did, they had to whisper. Mudkit spent most of his time with Leafstep. She kept thinking of new ways to dull his hearing, that way, when her sister Goldenflower would have her kits, the new loud bundles of fur wouldn't bother him. After many failed attempts, he permanently moved into the Medicine cat's den when the kits were born. He stayed there most of the day, when moonhigh comes around, he leaves the den, which acts as a sound barrier, and stretches his legs for a while. He made his desision to become a Medicine cat's apprentice at the last second, and was given to Leafstep. Which was a good thing for him. She was the only one who didn't try to blow his eardrums out. but next comes an even louder place than camp.
