This costume was made by request for my friend Corey. I will admit that I am more of a DC fan and Carol is not my favorite character but I love how this costume looks on me. The leo and gloves were made out of 4 way stretch latex. This stuff is not easy to work with so if you plan on making something with it, be forewarned that you either need a leather foot for your machine or tissue paper to help the fabric feed through. Also it does not stretch nearly as much as other fabrics so give yourself a bigger seam allowance. I did not and as you can see the leo is pretty much skin tight and as such, the cheap zipper acts up when I put it on and I have to have someone play with it until it co-operates. I used the vogue 8171 pattern for my gloves and elongated them. For the leo I used the simplicity 3912 pattern and altered it by a lot. The lightening bolt was attached with wonder under and then top stitched on, unfortunately the gold spandex is starting to wear so I will have to take that one off soon and re-attach a new one. I used a gift card that I had won from a costume contest to buy my boots because there wasn't much else from the website I was interested in. I added a panel of latex and pleather to make the boots curve up on the sides. I ordered the mask on [link] . Unfortunately the day of this shoot I forgot my spirit gum, instead I used eyelash glue which doesn't hold as well, so we didn't get a lot of shots.
