The planet or sun in this almost has a kind of transparency. It feels as if you could look into it deeper and deeper until you got lost in it.

Actually it is transparent. It's a bubble I made with Photoshop. The background is only slightly twisted where the bubble is and the colours were changed to more bluish.

I've tried a few spheres in paint
shop. I like the way they turn out but I don't know how to make a bubble.

It's as simple as making any other orb or sphere. The shading and reflections just must be done more carefully and adjust the opacity right to make it look realistic.
