Description
This is a picture from NASA comparing Earth and Jupiter for size. Note jupiters Great Red Spot. It's a hurricane in Jupiters atmosphere that has been raging for at least 400 years and may be up to 3 times as large as Earth!!! ITS A STORM THAT'S AS LARGE AS EARTH!Related content

So pleased Jupiter isn't quite as close as the picture suggests!! Imagine that falling on you .... at least we wouldn't know much about it!!

It wouldn't fall on you... more like the planet Earth would be engulfed by the atmosphere of Jupiter, and then we would all die because its atmosphere is mostly gases that we cant breath and the tremendous wind would scour the surface of Earth clean, and the gravity of Jupiter would pull Earth into it deeper ad deeper until we crashed with its iron core, and then there would be the largest explosion in the history of large explosions, and then Jupiters atmosphere might become ignited turning itΒ into a second sun within the solar system, then all the other planets orbits would go out of whack because of having to orbit around two suns and the whole solar system would get destroyed. So no, its not like it would fall on you.

The alternative is, of course, so much more appealing!!

...And can you believe that Jupiter is mostly gas?
