Description
EDIT: since people are apparently having trouble (lol), you need to DOWNLOAD this tutorial to see the full view. come on guys xDpart II: [link]
PHEW!
ok so like i said, i've been working on a book binding tutorial, since i know that i would've been so grateful for something like this back when i didn't have a clue how to make a book but really wanted too
this took me all day, so i hope it's helpful, and i hope you can understand what i'm going on about xD some parts were really difficult to explain in writing...
and it includes all my secrets, so i hope those of you who do give it a go appreciate it!
obviously this is only part I, and it includes making your covers and inside pages. hopefully i'll be able to put more work into finishing it tomorrow, otherwise i won't be able to get the rest up till after christmas and you'll all be stuck with half a book lol!
this is going to be the same style of book as this one: [link]
in case you were interested in having a look at what it will look like when it's done
ANYWAY. if you do take a stab at bookmaking and you use my tutorial give me a shout, i'd love to see how you do!
and if there are any questions so far, post them here and i'll gladly answer them if i can

I might just have to be shunned for my overuse of glue, so I hope my next book won't be as janky. Thanks for the great tutorial!

Hey quick question! When you say blunt needle with a big eye do you mean like this [link] ? Just want to make sure before I go stabbing my paper with the wrong tool.

haha sure do, but just make sure that the eye isn't thicker than the actual needle, otherwise you're going to stretch your holes and then your signatures will wobble around.

Lol awesome sauce.
I've tried to do thus pretty much blindly a couple of times, and have actually made/bound a book somehow.
But it was useful C:
And seriously, if you cant figure out you need to download it, it still is readable- I did it with my contact lenses in and they pretty much kill my vision up close.

i always put gold leaf on my books makes them that little bit more special.
i used to have some up, but i've put all my deviations into storage while i sort everything out.. hopefully i'll put them back up soon

i need some inspiration, so what do you tend to use for decorations?
like, goldleaf on the covers, leather for the binding?
im really at a loss for something pretty atm
im buying goldleaf this very second, will always come in handy XD

haha um...i tend to use handpainted paper for the covers, it generally looks better i always experiment, there's nothing that i do as a rule, you know?

Thank you for posting this. Though, before I begin, I ask of you to please answer my question: You could probably use leather instead of paper on the cover, correct? Or not?

Thank you. I think it turned out pretty good for a first go. The pages are a little uneven and the end papers are a little wrinkly, but that just makes it look like a proper handicraft product

exactly! it's the little things that aren't perfect that make it more valuable as something handmade. adds character

Um, you've done something to this so I can't click it and make it bigger. So I can't read the tutorial.
I think maybe it's because you made it non-sharable? Don't know. But it looks like a really useful tutorial and I'd like to use it!! Can you please fix that?
