still believe it was semantics in more ways than one, Ozpin asked how could HE kill Salem, he didn't asked if Salem COULD be killed at all, more over to the case Jinn simply replied with "YOU can't", she didn't said "Salem CAN'T be killed", now that being said with semantics out of the way there are many ways to deal with immortal beings, her mind is pretty much still human, ever tried brainwashing Salem? how bout sealing Salem in another dimension like that weird magical door to the relic? just saying everybody lost their shit at the moment killing was (apparently) no longer an option and been hate-spamming Ozpin without ever actually trying to come up with a new plan (that being said i'm enjoying this new season allot so this is more of a pet-peeve of mine rather than an error, if anything i feel they'll eventually realize this and ask the question "the right way").

personally I like to think there wasn't any word play there while still thinking he asked the wrong question
they pretty muchs tated that only when Salem learns the value of the life and death circle that she may be able to rest, so the only way to defeat her is to have her learn it to then lose her immortality, then she either dies by the effect of the Grimm pool or simple becomes killeable

huh, didn't noticed it was that popular of a theory, still your idea sounds just as valid, it does make sense her immortality is a sort of lesson rather than a punishment, either that or a second dipping into that destruction pool could do the trick y'know? she could be like a marshmallow (i mean...she already got the skin color for it), leave her on the flames long enough and she'll melt
