I like the rising sun theme you got here with the blimps and other sort of strange organic mechanisms

Yeah, I know that feeling! The record store in Lacey has vintage Queensryche, Iron Maiden, Loudness, and Helloween... but I can no afford

Over the summer one of the record stores here had a garage sale and all the
vinyls were fifty cents. I got my favorite UFO record, then a random Rush and Queen one.
I've been lucky getting really cheap Grand Funk Railroad ones there.

UFO? Was it the album that had "Try Me"?
The record store in Lacey had some for
50cents too for a while, which is how I
got most of my records

You're thinking of Lights Out, though that album is pretty awesome. It was Phenomenon.
That one has "Rock Bottom," "Lipstick Traces," and "Oh My." Or my favorite...[link] I feel like a nerd XD
Getting records is fun. Do you have a record player for yours? I don't yet.

Most of the best bands have an expiration date Foreigner was great until 1984, Aerosmith was until 1998, Fleetwood-Mac wasn't until 1975
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
LeKrowArt In reply to leothefox [2012-12-08 00:02:32 +0000 UTC]
Of course. Van Halen expired when Roth went solo.
We make exceptions for our very favoritest bands, obviously.

leothefox In reply to LeKrowArt [2012-12-08 00:17:37 +0000 UTC]
I thought "5150" had some good tracks on it.
Some bands just didn't last long enough.

LeKrowArt In reply to leothefox [2012-12-08 01:20:53 +0000 UTC]
Well, I don't know why I said that. I haven't actually heard them after Hagar joined in,
so I can't really say they "expired" after that.
That brings us back to Zeppelin!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
leothefox In reply to LeKrowArt [2012-12-08 01:24:18 +0000 UTC]
Haha! Well, one of my fave songs from them is "Why Can't This Be Love". I do think they were better with Roth, but they didn't really suck until 1997's "Van Halen III".
Oh Zepplin

LeKrowArt In reply to leothefox [2012-12-08 01:31:34 +0000 UTC]
I wonder why so many bands numbered their albums...
Zeppelin did it, Van Halen, UFO, and a bunch of others I'm forgetting
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
leothefox In reply to LeKrowArt [2012-12-08 01:41:40 +0000 UTC]
I think Zepplin may have started it. Quiet Riot did it too, and like Van Halen, they only had a "3" after several named albums. The difference is that "Quiet Riot III" didn't suck (it included "The Wild and the Young").
Both Foreigner and Toto had a fourth album entitled "4" even though their first 3 albums weren't numbered. Huey Lewis' 4th album was entitled "Fore!".

LeKrowArt In reply to leothefox [2012-12-08 01:52:02 +0000 UTC]
And Megadeth's most recent album was called Th1rt3en. Yay I thought of something! XD
I guess sometimes numbers have more effect than words.
If I were to number an album, it'd just be an homage to awesome bands who did.
Otherwise it'd be a random word like "Gurney" or "Harkonnen."
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
leothefox In reply to LeKrowArt [2012-12-08 02:06:57 +0000 UTC]
And Def Leppard had "X" (ten to you and me) and I think Iron Maiden did the same with "X-Factor". Sorry if I keep rattling on > o >
Oooo if you did "Harkonnen" you could use the Giger art for your cover: [link] !
I think if I had an album I'd either use a b-movie title like "Solar Crisis" or "Alien from L.A." or I'd use something cheesy like "Fair to Metalin'".
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
LeKrowArt In reply to leothefox [2012-12-08 03:12:47 +0000 UTC]
X-Factor? Isn't that also a singing competition?
I think the rattling on is a team effort at this point.
That would make a very bad-ass album cover. Kudos to Giger. That actually sounds like
a good album title: Kudos to Giger! I should read Dune and make an album where
the titles and lyrics are all references to it. Kind of like Pink Floyd did with Animals.
So many possibilities!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
leothefox In reply to LeKrowArt [2012-12-09 02:41:56 +0000 UTC]
I think that too? But the album looks
like this: [link]
Ooo concept album, eh? Or you could
come up with a new epic story for the
album like Maiden did with "7th Son of
the 7th Son" or Genesis did with "The
Lamb Lies Down on Broadway".

LeKrowArt In reply to leothefox [2012-12-09 03:38:31 +0000 UTC]
Reminds me of Peewee's Playhouse gone wrong. Don't ask lol
Dune is so long, it'd probably be easier to make an original, epic story
than to read it.

So stop making me feel even older than I am! D:
You know, what we all should expect from our art is to simply express what we want to express, isn't it? I think any more would just be limiting ourselves... besides, remember what we said about lazyness last we spoke. I certainly do!
