I think TV should stay around, it reminds us that there are things in life we still have to take as they come. I don't believe in Tivo.

That is true, but it can have a negative effect on folks as well, right?

Gasp... a Tivo atheist? Ya know in the "Bible" it say Tivo was created in 7 days... haha..

Hehe well, the bottom line is TV is bad and good, like life, and we simply choose the parts we want to focus on. Most hate commercials, but some enjoy them, etc.

I enjoy Netflix and Hulu, but TV is not needed since there are VCRs for that (me= very old-fashioned).

Again, I agree, I'd do believe though that reality TV is an evil thing, most dramas and sitcoms are fine for the human mind... but when someone watches "The Jersey Shore" or that show with kid pageants and think it's cool and decide to pursue it... I think that's the bad part of it

Oh my... I own a VCR as well... but I use it for a shoe rack... don't tell me you do beta too.

Oh indeed, there is tons and tons of shit on TV and many
many shows are just weak retreads of other ones. However,
I find the stream of noise and colors helpful for me,
when I draw especially. So much of TV is just a river of
shit, but it reminds us that the world is bigger than us
and our choices and pisses us off

I own at least 6 VCRs (all VHS). I do own BETA tapes and am
always on the lookout for a BETA VCR. I also own 3 LASERDISC
players and Lasrdiscs to go with them

Again... I couldn't have said it better myself, haha. I remember you saying before that the flashing colors and white noise helped you create, I still love that technique, haha. Annoyance at the world around us is certainly a great inspiration.

Whaaa? A beta VCR? Is that like a VCR/DVD combo? Why in the world would you want such a thing, haha? Nostalgia must pump through your veins.

I think people do need to be annoyed too, by
commercial breaks or whatever else. It's too
easy these days for people to get lost in their
own little comfort zone. I find now that I seek
out things to annoy me

I don't like BluRay and such, I nostalgia very hard.
Plus some titles are literally only available on tape.

EchoplexSermon In reply to leothefox [2012-06-22 03:27:31 +0000 UTC]

As annoying as being annoyed is I completely agree.I'll try to annoy you a bit then, haha.

Not a fan of BluRay either, I'm not about to start my DVD collection all over again... fuck that. Nostalgia is definitely a good thing I mean, I won't lie I have about 30 old Disney flicks on VHS

Hehe most DA artist do, but you haven't yet

Yeah, I don't know why people get rid of their DVDs
when the Blu-Ray players still play them
Tee-Hee! Me too. I collect VHS, especially if they've
got vintage 80s packaging

Haha, I feel ya there. Gimme time, gimme time.

But the DVD's won't be in High Def ... All of mine are in those cheap plastic cases How big is your VHS collection?

-< o <- -> o >- I better be on the lookout.

Def-shmef is what I say! I'm keeping my old-timey TVs too
I'm pretty sure I've got over a thousand VHSs, maybe over 2.

EchoplexSermon In reply to leothefox [2012-06-22 03:54:04 +0000 UTC]

Is that a piggy face?

Why keep the TVs? You like your video in the worst possible definition, eh? Holy shit...!?

leothefox In reply to EchoplexSermon [2012-06-22 03:58:46 +0000 UTC]

It's surprised faces

I like it the way it was in the 80s I'm getting
the genuine experience

EchoplexSermon In reply to leothefox [2012-06-22 04:11:02 +0000 UTC]

I don't see it haha

Aren't you 27 or some shit, haha? That's only a few years of the 80's, haha. Well, what if you're watching a movie from the 60's on an 80's model TV? Huh?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

leothefox In reply to EchoplexSermon [2012-06-22 04:14:09 +0000 UTC]

I'm gonna be 30 in like 5 weeks I got most of the 80s. although I only remember the last 4 years of it. And remember DVD has only been a thing since about 1995, so it's still new to me I'll take any CRT TV I can get, as long as it still works.

EchoplexSermon In reply to leothefox [2012-06-22 04:30:51 +0000 UTC]

I got 2 years of the 80's... and all of the 90's and I somehow don't remember them at all, haha

They're still new to you? Jesus, mate, you must not be a big fan of modern tech., hah Duuuude, those TVs are too damn heavy

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

leothefox In reply to EchoplexSermon [2012-06-22 04:34:44 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I remember the entire 90s, unfortunately ^^

You only have to lift them like once when you put them in.
Out of shape?

EchoplexSermon In reply to leothefox [2012-06-22 05:53:28 +0000 UTC]

Haha, not like the 200's are anything to remember

That's true, and yes... yes... just a little bit though, haha. But still, those things aren't just heavy they're bulky as hell too.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

leothefox In reply to EchoplexSermon [2012-06-22 06:05:13 +0000 UTC]

Of course they're bulkym they're furniture, the center-piece of the room

I tend to organize by video distributor, I have a have a shelf for RCA/Columbia, and a shelf for CBS/FOX. I think next I'll make one for Warner Home Video

Why wouldn't I be? Each distributor handles package design differently.

Alphabetical seems so much more practical though.

leothefox In reply to EchoplexSermon [2012-06-23 00:03:12 +0000 UTC]

They are alphabetical, after being organized by distributor (that icon is made from "Miami Vice" season 3 episode 1 where Crockett's Ferrari [actually a Corvette with a kit on it] is exploded by Jeff Fahey... the main guest star was Liam Neeson).

That seems like a lot of work. How... in... the... shit... could... you ... know... that.. so... quick...?

If I ever play "Trivial Pursuit" I'm calling your ass if I need help.

I'm good for some things

leothefox In reply to EchoplexSermon [2012-06-23 02:31:27 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm, okay, that's about 2k? And maybe some change? I'd need some good walking shoes and a shopping cart to lean on.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EchoplexSermon In reply to leothefox [2012-06-23 02:37:21 +0000 UTC]

EchoplexSermon In reply to leothefox [2012-06-23 02:57:55 +0000 UTC]

You do have a point there. I like that you top it off with benches 2 dudes sitting on a bench with a shopping cart looking beat to hell most likely snoozing.... screams homeless. Hahaha, We gotta keep our eyes peeled for those crazy Mormons though.

leothefox In reply to EchoplexSermon [2012-06-23 03:04:13 +0000 UTC]

so they'll leave us alone.

The Muslim thing would get our gooses cooked! If I try to pull off the Hispanic thing I'll get busted just trying to go Arizona... We may just have to meet in Montana... I've never heard anything bad about that place... well... I've never heard anything about Montana at all actually does it even exist?

leothefox In reply to EchoplexSermon [2012-06-23 03:28:13 +0000 UTC]
