AWESOME!!! Penny Arcade ROCKS! That is so awesome, you just totally transformed the cardboardtube samuri! Way beyond the origanal in detial and realism. There are Pacmans all around the sleeves. Once again, awesome.

Wow... that's amazing. As much as I like Penny Arcade and all the stuff they've done with CTS, I wish they did the short tales they run about CTS like this. It'd make everything feel more... epic. In particular, I like the detail given onto his "shoes" and his straw hat. The look on his face is also something that I'd expect, but I don't think can be done quite well in the PA style.
Short version of what I just said: OMG THAT ROCKS!! IT BEATS THE CRAP OUTTA ANYTHING GABE'S DRAWN!

Yea, I'm aware of the styles. What I'm suggesting, however, is that the style you use is far more fitting for the type of story CTS would follow. It gives a more epic and darker look to it, something that, sadly, Gabe's style would have difficulty trying to do. ^_^

The first time I saw this I thought; "CTS..? What does that stand for?" and then I noticed the little pacman symbols on his yukata and the tube and then I thought "CARDBOARD TUBE SAMURAI!!! It's Penny Arcade! Ooooooo!!! Spiffy!"
What I like most about this is that even though it's done entirely in your own style, you can still recognize who the character is! Some people screw around with other peoples' characters too much and it doesn't look anything like them. Either that or they copy it exactly leaving no earmarks of the artist or any originality.

You did a great job on this, imo. I love the magical quality of the soft edge on those vibrant colours.
I also like the black pacman on yellow motif of the shirt: that really marks the Samurai as Gabe.
