For this guy I used face of Gohan SSJ2 from Legendary Super Warriors game for GBC cause his appearance was based on him. Sure it looks fine but now when I think about it, I'm not satisfied. It just looks like a recolor of the original and I don't like that.
Yes I put heart in my works when I spend hours creating them but I think that simple recoloring is hmm... making them shallow.
It's good to use works of better artist as a reference when you want to improve your skills etc. but straight up copying them and swapping colors is just lame.
I don't like when people do that and claim such deviations as their own creations. They're lame and unskilled.

I don't know why would I do what you asked me. Every character is different. Of course some of them are similar but using the same base for them would make them look like clones of one another.

Base sheet hmm... When I search for base I always search for classic sprites from DBZ: Legendary Super Warriors game for Gameboy Color...
Vortex resemble Gohan SSJ2 from Cell Game in some way so I used his sheet... Gohan Super Saiyan 2
