Description More of my planetary adventures can be seen in my DA "Paleo & Sci Illo" gallery: [link]

Fibonacci AB-1 is a world that orbits in the habitable zone of a pair of binary K2 stars. It is less massive than the earth. This allows vegetable life to grow to enormous size. The volcanic landscape is covered with tree-like forms that develop in coils and spirals. Some of these "trees" are mountainous in proportion. Entire communities of organisims live inside their coils that slope like the gallereries in the Guggenheim Museum. Indeed spiral trees taller than redwoods grow within their translucent walls.

The color of suns is as much predicated on the gaseous medium through which their light is propogated as is their spectral class. An earth-like N2/O2 mix would scatter the light of orange K stars much as it would our own G2 Sol.

BTW: This "alien" landscape is fairly familiar to those living along the North Pacific Rim.

Check out this deviation for some of the life forms native to this world:

Now that's some very interesting description for life on this unique looking planet scape. I like it.

I notice almost all your alien worlds have lower gravity than Earth. When will you show us a high gravity world?

I see that you have also discovered Michelin. However, I like to explore lower gravity situations as they permit speculation on enormous life forms and spectacular geology. On heavier worlds I may yet visit atmospheric and liquid circumstances.

Perhaps you should take another approach to depicting high gravity aliens: portly and proud.

I initially thought those were buildings. I'd really like to visit a place like this

I might yet speculate on what or who might inhabit these zigarat forests.
