Dimensions: 27X27X1. Blocks used: 423 sand blocks, 306 cobblestone blocks, 27 dirt blocks (total of 756 blocks). Time wasted: too much.

I was inspired by some picture I saw when I looked for Minecraft on Google images, or on dA, or something.
It's a QR code (something like a 2D bar-code). Scan it if you can.

My first art in non-classic Minecraft. Took me a few hours to plan, prepare and produce.
It's nice to watch.

(May be unscanable. I uploaded the original image to my scrapbook, if you're interested in scanning it.)
(I may try and make the stone parts darker, shoot the picture again from a different spot, and re-upload it.)

**24.12.10 UPDATE: I tried my previously mentioned idea to make the cobblestone blocks look darker. It doesn't work for big structures, due to the third dimension the game possesses. The idea was to put the dark blocks 1 block behind the bright blocks, so that some shadow will fall on the darked blocks, making them darker. When put to the use on a big structure, the darker blocks are being hidden behind the brighter blocks, around the edges. When standing directly in front of those dark blocks, they DO appear darker.
NOTE: when in the middle of a structure, and being observed from a distance, it may work.

****14.1.11 UPDATE: Newly colored wool blocks! I see a chance to use less obsidian, and more wool!
