Inspired by that Bollywood soundtrack of Salman Khan. I don't like Bollywood movies but I like their music when it's a sort of more serious and melancholic. Sadly my scanner cut off Yami's arm. I think it was very important to the pose, I just now noticed it. Well.."Kis haq se kahun bataa ke main hoon hero tera" means "With what right should I say that I am your hero.." and it ridiculously perfectly describes this situation in that piece. He has disappointed her badly and there's no way to get out of it unless Anzu forgives him step by step as time passes by.
Like it or hate it, I don't care. I LOVE it.

Wow, the comments in German seem so insightful and interesting, it's times like those I wish I had learnt the language haha
I totally love the idea of Anzu being made of light while Yami's darkness! You could say they complement each other in a weird, kind of twisted way, and yet like someone said earlier, neither Anzu or Yami are perfect. Each of them is flawed - a mix of good and bad, and that's what makes them so interesting in my mind. They've learnt a good deal of things from each other in canon, and could have made a pretty good couple, had things been different.

Your comments mean so much to me ;_; We've got shown several times that Yami has this darkness residing inside him, and I can imagine that Anzu sometimes gets annoyed by it... maybe, when he's got issues in opening his heart to her. I also can imagine him having some depressions from time to time which he'll only grow out of as time passes. Anzu had her failures too with her childish behavior earlier and that stuff. And maybe he also got tired of her indecision between him and Yugi. (at least in my fic hahaha) I love drama! I painted this piece with the thought that she found out he slept with Mai. (which also follows the path of my fic xD) Though they weren't together back then, she got jealous and was kinda disappointed of him. I also would be, I mean, she's their friend and obviously a love interest of Jounouchi, though he's a moron for not noticing it xD He kinda knows, yes, but I think he isn't ready for a tough woman like Mai is.

Yup, they would've been a good couple, Anzu would force him to get his butt of the sofa and do things and he would be her oasis of tranquility, when she needs to slower down her drive, also, I think, he's a good listener. (At least he could be mistaken for that because not talking much, lol)

Good luck with having Yami letting his inner feelings out, Anzu! Guess she'll have to be a loooot patient xD But I can see this happening in the end, though. Of the whole group, Anzu was shown to be one of the few people able to draw Yami out of his guarded shell. There's a great deal of trust between the two, after all - one of the reasons why I ship those two so much again haha. c: And awww, "her oasis of tranquility". 
Ohoh, I totally love the idea of Anzu finding out about Yami and Mai! (yes, I love drama too) I still don't see why she would resent Yami for this, though, since like you said, they weren't together and Anzu was still hesitating between him and Yuugi back then. Yami and Mai are free to be with whomever they want to... that said, I can understand the feeling of betrayal Anzu would feel at such a discovery. :/ Mmmh, I wonder how Yami will settle things down with her.

Yes, he trusts her really very much! He even wanted her to keep a secret from Yugi. One episode earlier he wanted to stay with Yugi forever and one later he wants to find about his past no matter what, and not even wanting to tell Yugi. ^^ All rant about Anzu..but yeah. You can't deny his trust in her and he wouldn't do that, if he didn't like her much. Yes, she really manages to draw him out of his shell ^^ Like I said, she would spice up his life a bit, that would be just good for him...

I don't know.. If I was in love with one and plus he would bang a friend... I'd get jealous xD So I can understand her. lol As a teenie I was so horrible. Maybe she got angry because she knows how Joey likes her.. So it's a doubled disappointment/betrayal? Anzu is a tough woman, but she also has a fragile core, I really believe this could break her heart, I can't exactly tell why. ^^'

Ther are lots of great emotions going on here. I like how Yami's eyes are covered by shadows. The flower and petals in the background help draw me to what is going on. Nice work.

I have no words to describe what I feel when I look at this picture of yours... I was listening a melancholic song when I took a look at your last artworks and this image appeared to my eyes... and it was so moving.
I think this drawing is stunning. This is one of the best artworks you've made. I'm totally maravilled with Anzu's hand covering her face with sorrow, the way you use colours and brushes to work shadings and lights on their clothes... The roses. Oh, Dearest God. This drawing doesn't need nothing else, my friend. No stupid background is needed. This work has everything to leave an impression...
Their both have been coloured different. I think this is completely connected to the meaning of the drawing. This time, Anzu's not the one who's trying to reach Atem; now, it's Atem the one who tries to walk after her... I don't know, but this kinda makes justice to the poor and -for so long- broken heart of Anzu...

So you had the chance to experience the whole potential of this piece, music helps me to understand my feelings and the feeling others tried to express. I already told you how f*ckin' happy I was when I read your comment, I was such a fangirl! The shading was a pain in the ass, I was very limited with the grayscales, only had 5 markers and the darkest was too dark, also the paper was at the point of being soaked, so I couldn't add any more shadings. But still I love how it turned out. It has so much movement in it, it's almost like I can see the petals flowing in the wind, rushing beneath me. Oh my.
I hoped you'd like it, it reminded me a bit of your Anzu...
Hah, I love how you said stupid backgrounds xD I first intended to do one, but then all changed and the roses appeared.. and I'm really thankful I didn't ruin it with a background. It would distract too much from thtat scene.. I thought.
It was always her running after him, so I think this is a major character development being the though one and showing him the direction.
As EngelchenYugi mentioned it in her comment, unfortunately you can't read it as it's in German but, she pointed that out so well. She's the light and he's the darkness. It's like she tries to get a distance to protect her inner light, her innocence and hope. She doesn't want him to kill it with his failures. He has to learn.. a lot. He was never perfect, nor was she. But that's how you grow...
I love them so. There's just too much potential for them both.

Yeah! They... have so much potential. I always said they deserved a better destiny, a better end. They really meant together and I realise it everytime I rewatch a couple YGO's scenes...and I say, "God, they fit so good!" Engelchen is so right about Anzu's lightness and Atem's darkness; they're complement... They could have had such a beautiful relationship bases on reciprocal love, forgiveness and confidence...
Oh, dear. I got so emotional with this...
I wish I could have the power to gather them... Atem hasn't had happiness... He deserved something beyond that "afterlife" thing; he deserved love.

Wow, was für ein tolles Bild!
Ich freue mich mmer so, wenn ich deine YamixAnzu Fanarts sehe und das hier gehört nun zu meinen Lieblingsbildern von dir, weil man es in so viele Richtungen interpretieren kann. Anzu sieht ihn zwar als Helden an, aber da er geht, weiß Yami, dass er nicht das Recht hat, ihr Hoffnungen zu machen oder sich gar als ihren Helden zu bezeichnen. Und weil Anzu durch dieses Wissen verletzt ist, will sie weiterhin Distanz wahren und versucht ihre Tränen zu verbergen. Oder aber, wie du sagtest, er hat sie enttäuscht, weil er etwas Dummes gemacht hat. Solche Bilder mag ich am liebsten. Man sitzt vorm Rechner, betrachtet das Bild und zwingt sich dazu, nicht mal eben ein Word Dokument zu öffnen und eine Fanfiktion zu schreiben. Man bekommt einfach so viele Ideen! ♥
Die Koloration bzw. die dunkle Einfärbung finde ich sehr gut gelungen. Diese dunklen, grauen Farben passen sehr gut zum Motiv. Besonders gefällt mir, dass Anzu in Sepia-Farben ist und dass das Bild einen Farbübergäng von eben dieser Farbe in das Grau bekommt. Man könnte es so sehen, dass du Anzu als das Licht darstellen wolltest, während Yami eben die Dunkelheit ist und somit das Böse symbolisiert. Auch die Rosen, die langsam ihre Blüten verlieren und somit etwas Vergängliches zu symbolisieren scheinen, sind treffend gewählt. Außerdem liebe ich Rosen, das reicht mir schon, um dieses Detail großartig zu finden, hihi.
Was ich unbedingt erwähnen muss, ist, dass deine Anzu nun viel schöner aussieht! Der neue Haarstil lässt ihre Haare ein bisschen "realistischer" wirken und geben ihr genau die Ausstrahlung, die man von ihr gewohnt ist. Man erkennt sie eben sofort wieder. Hier finde ich es schön, wie die Haare sich noch bewegen, so, als würde gerade ein Windstoß kommen, der versucht, die beiden voneinander zu trennen und die Schwere der Situation auf diese Weise untermauert.
Ich würde mal behaupten, dass das Bild für den Scanner zu groß ist, denn auch wenn die Fläche des Scanbereiches nicht vollkommen ausgeschöpft ist, so kann er meist die Ränder nicht mitscannen. Ich kenne das sehr gut, meine Liebe. Daher habe ich mir angewöhnt, bei einem Blatt möglichst die Ränder nicht zu bemalen, weil er diese eh nicht scannt. Vielleicht versuchst du ein bis zwei Zentimeter Abstand vom Rand zu halten, ansonsten das Bild andersrum reinlegen, noch einmal mit denselben Einstellungen scannen und den Teil, der bei dem anderen Bild abgetrennt wurde, gesondert herausschneiden und bei dem anderen Bild einfügen. Vorher drehen und wenden, damit es richtig ist und die Leinwand in einem Programm bearbeiten und gucken, dass du beide Teile möglichst genau aneinander kriegst.

Man teilt ja seine Bilder, dmit man erfährt, was der andere so denkt und wie es auf ihn gewirkt hat. Es ist auch schön, wenn jemand sagt, dass er es hübsch findet, aber so tiefgründigere Kritik ist schon nochmal was anders. *.*
Jemand auf tumblr hat in seinen Tags geschrieben, dass es witzig sei, denn irgendwie sei er ja der Held und der Antiheld zugleich... Das war auch ein sehr interessanter Aspekt dieses Bildes. Lustig, was es für unterschiedliche Gedanken auslöst. Vielleicht sollte ich öfters wieder mit Fineliner und Marker arbeiten.. Scheint irgendwie Emotionen zu wecken.
Ich mag deine Interpretation ebenfalls sehr, weil sie geradezu perfekt zu der Szene passt, hätte ich die Szene nicht spezifiziert, hätte es genau so gut auch das sein können. Und ich denke, jeder sollte es so sehen dürfen, wie er will. Das ist ja das tolle an "Kunst", jeder sieht was anderes. Vielleicht mehr, als der Künstler beabsichtigt hat, was wiederum dazu führt, dass der Erschaffer einen neuartigen Einblick in seine Arbeit erhält, er betrachtet es aus einem ihm bis dahin unbekannten Winkel. Das ist die Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem Betrachter und dem Erschaffer. Dafür möchte ich dir ganz herzlich danken. Got, das klang jetzt so analytisch.. Aber ich war echt glücklich über deinen Kommi. Und dass du und auch Linky fandet, dass es eines eurer Favoriten unter meinen Bildern ist ;_; Obwohl ich dachte, dass es ja nur Gekritzel ist... Aber manchmal ist solches Gekritzel ehrlicher als jedes klinisch reingefegte digitale Fanart...
Jep, das war meine Absicht, die Unschuld, das Licht Anzus, das überschwappt in die Dunkelheit Yamis, und viellecht, um ihr Licht zu bewahren, entfernt sie sich von ihm. Sie schützt ihre Unschuld, ihren Glauben an das Gute, ihre Hoffnung... Hach ;_; Ich würde Yami trotzdem lieben, trotz all seiner Facetten, trotz der Finsternis in ihm, das ist es doch, was so faszinierend ist. Die Abgründe einer Persönlichkeit. Ich habe eine Schwäche dafür, merkt man das? xD
Bin froh, dass du die Rosen als solches erkennst, ich hatte früher immer Probleme damit, aber dieses mal denke ich, sind sie gar nicht so übel geworden. ^^'
Sie sind einfach im Fluss entstanden, plötzlich waren die Blütenblätter, dann die Rosen und alles nahm seinen Lauf und bekam so eine gewisse Dynamik. (Ich hatte Angst, dass es zu kitschig werden könnte)
Ich habe mich an die neue Frisur gewöhnt jep, fällt mir auch einfacher, muss ich schon sagen, das war ein guter Vorschlag von dir. Gefällt mir so auch besser, dieses Wehen im Wind. *schmacht*
Ich wünschte, ich hätte allgemein noch mehr Schattierungen einbringen können, aber ich hatte jeweils nur 5 Graustufen und joa... Irgendwann war das papier vollgesogen und nahm keine Farbe mehr an, darum... Muss mir noch mehr bestellen, mir gefällt die Sepiacolo mega guuuuuut!
An sich hatte ich nie Probleme mit dem Scanner... Komischerweise, ich werde es die nächsten Tage jedoch noch zusammenfügen, es ist mir schon wichtig. Hoffentlich kann ich ihn schön ausschneiden und wieder ranmachen. (Mit chirugischer Präzision) Keine Angst, Yami.. Ich bin Profi.
