I saw that I had plenty of images to make this gif, so why not? Thought you might like it ^^
The photos used for the background were taken in a trip to Greece many years ago, but they're heavily modified by the end of the process.

I noticed that you use a very thin, dark brush to make the lineart. Did you use a normal painting brush, or an ink pen? I work in Paint Tool SAI, not Photoshop, and I'm still fleshing out my style. Not really sure whether I prefer thick, colorful lineart or clean, simple dark lineart.

Humm... Depending on the drawing, sometimes I use a granulated brush by loish , but most of the times I just use the Photoshop generic brush. You know, that simple round.
It doesn't matter if you pick thick or simple lineart, as long as it looks good. Every artist has their preferences, and none is better than the others ^^

In the picture? Hmmm... Probably a week, drawing every morning at least. For these big commissions, I always calculate at least a loose week

when do you merge colors with lineart? it looks so amazing and sharp.

When the base color is already put, I start painting all the rest over the lineart, so eventually it gets covered or showing up only in the parts where it is truly needed for aesthetical purposes ^^
