Past Design: I honestly didn't do my research when I first designed Doc's OC design in my style. I didn't know the character's backstory, or his typical clothing or outfit, nor did I ask Doc himself at the time, because I was to shy to lol. When he first agreed to do an AMWDW episode with me, I was well, beyond thrilled, me being a huge fan of his work too. I was so excited to get to edit the episode and audio, despite his efforts of offering me assistance with other artists he knew, I insisted on doing it all on my own and at quick speeds because I was so excited and anxious to see our first episode come to life. When I look at the sketches I realize I went back to my basic roots of what I thought a wolf SHOULD look like, hence his first styles were him on all four legs. But after seeing previous designs of Doc through various other talented artists, I thought making him smaller, pony size maybe, and less intimidating in the face and chest would be the better way to go. In the end he almost looks like a fox or cat now that I look back. His legs and hands weren't exactly fully developed either but they got the job done.

I was too nervous to make backgrounds at the time but I gave it my best shot with his. Perspectives or angles lacked extensively I admit, but I was thinking more of how the characters needed to be presented amongst the background, and probably didn't give it more attention then I could have. I did cut corners making it, such as with the decor in the background on the shelves. Some of it being repurposed props I tried to mimick in the show, but didn't match up with the background. But I knew I wanted it to be based off the colors of Fluttershy to some extent because it's Doc's favorite Pony, and her shades give off a soft and "safe enviorment" ~ DRWolf.

Present Design: So before I touch on the actual updates of DRWolf's character design, I can say not only the primary background got a much needed makeover, but after years of taking on commissions including backgrounds for other people, I gained enough confidence to make more backgrounds to better expand the world of Doc's office. I wanted to give it more of an open therapy office that it deserved, along with providing opprotunies for different Profile and Frontal expressions for the characters as they had their meetings. Not to mention updating Lady Wolf's image to the background to give it more flair to Doc's needs and interests. I also added a few personal touches. 1. On the wall in the primary meeting background is a picture of myself and together as friends meeting up for one of our CMPC collabs. There's the jar of rainbow that Bliss gave Doc for one of his birthdays, a Plushie of Bliss, and a rainbow Tea Cup set. So just in case you have any doubts of who was the artist of this design, you shouldn't now lol.

Now onto DRWolf himself. He's gone through a massive update to say the least, heavily inspired by designs and TF2 motivations. I admit I did fall in love with that design amongst all the others, but still wanted to give it my own twist. I didn't want Doc to look childish, (except maybe the eyes), he's not after all, he's one of the eldest in our community lol! One thing I wanted to fix was his hair design. Previously it looked brushed and gelled to the side, now it's a bit more fuzzy and free, but not too crazy. His muzzle is much thicker, and has a much solid pink color to it. His glasses have more detail, you can actually SEE the lenses in them. The color in his clothes I felt really needed a softer hue to match with his office, considering he's a white wolf, he doesn't need more help to stand out against the background. His hands now have more movement and gestures, and yes they are hands, not paws. In DRWolf's backstory (yes I watched it a few times...sue me), it states that his "Master" used a spell to not only make him talk and stand, but able to grab things, using his hands, and not so much paws. They were longated from what I understood, and so I decided to pay tribute to that fact. There are few other changes, such as no more gradients to his design but patches of gray on his hair and tail, and he has pupils to his eyes this time around which I honestly feel gives him more expression.

At this point I feel like his design can't get much better then this, it feels like I've tighten everything up, of course I can always come up with more ways to express him and his background designs in the future.
