So okay, here are some things.Some backstory...
Adam Taurus Mask: Worn by the current leader of the WF.
Corporal Silverback: The guy back in TMoB Chapter 6 - With A Grain Of Dust with the big fucking hammer.
"Black Fang" Defection: A group of Faunus whi defected from the WF in the third month of its new regime.
"Rebellion" Militant: The soldiers sent to destroy the Black Fang. They succeeded... or so they reported. Truth is, they never found the leader
of the defection.
"Contagion" Standard Issue: The WF once tried to turn a decommissioned power plant into an outpost in Mantle, and they needed some sort of breathing apparatus. So the Contagion mask was developed, designed after Nevermore heads.
Woodland Recon: The nightvision enhancing masks developed for underground and deep woods exploration, introduced when the WF decided to set up their operation in Mountain Glenn. Designed after Ursa heads.
"Paladin" Militant: Masks worn by high-ranking members with advanced abilities and weapon training.
"Avant Militaria": Basically scouts of the WF.

Ok, two things:
1. Shovel Knight´s Plague Knight, doctors of a few centuries or so ago, ponies, and now the White Fang. All wear masks designed after bird heads. Not that I´m complaining or anything, and I know the reason for this (it´s because they look awesome), but....
Wait, where´d I wanna go again?
2. Do the Woodland Recon masks enhance a faunus´ already near perfect night vision, or do they just allow those few faunus who don´t have night vision to see in the dark as well?

Yes. They also include a thermal imaging option. That's where the battery is stored in the bear snout.

Also, nice to know you put some more thought into it and thought of a place for the battery to power all this tech stuff.
Still, as far as enhanced vision goes, my OCs got a major advantage called Grimm Vision.
Not as bad as it may sound, it just allows them to see emotions, which is kinda how I imagine Grimm see the world, as Ren´s semblance, which can mask emotions, has been shown to make him invisible to Grimm.
Seriously though, try hiding from someone who can literally see fear...

(What's TMoB? And Lunaverse? As for the actual masks I like them, I always wanted some more variation to the designs of the faction soldiers. Both White Fang, and Atlas, since we've only seen an officer uniform, general uniform, and then color-variation on their standard armor.)

LUNAverse is the expanded universe I made for my OCs (Team LUNA). The non-canon masks here are gonna appear down the line in TMoB... eventually.

Funny, I toyed around with the idea of a Plague Doctor OC, with a gasmask like the Contagion to boot. But having a Grimm mask modeled after the PD is a pretty interesting twist. Makes you wonder if they ever considered biological warfare.
