Description
Okay, so here's an extremely sucky painting made by yours truly. But true, it is acceptable once you know that this is the first painting I've ever really done. Anyways, I know it doesn't make any sense unless you've read the book, but I'll try to explain it best I can. The painting was for a school assignment, btw. (I had to portray the theme of the book using a scene, and I chose one where she was in her room and a bizillion cuckoo clocks went off)The main character is Mia, and she has a special condition where her brain has crossed her sight and hearing senses, so every time she hears a sound a specific color and shape appears in her sight. Each letter and number also has a specific shape. It's not a true story, but it's a real condition.
The story is about Mia finding out about her colors but she gets so wrapped up in them that she starts to forget about her loved ones and eventually her cat dies. The cat is a big part in the story. (TOO big of a part, in my opinion
BTW NO USING ANY MATERIAL ABOVE FOR ANY PURPOSES INCLUDING SCHOOL WORK RELATED TO THE SAME BOOK OR MONETARY PURPOSES!!!! COPYRIGHT TO LIGHTNINGFLASH2
So anyways, I forgive you if you skipped over all that cuz i know its UBER long, but plz atleast comment and tell me this: Do u like the painting? Is it good for a newb? AND PLZ ANSWER THIS ONE: I desperately tried to cover most of her face so I wouldn't have to paint hair, SO DOES IT LOOK WEIRD WITHOUT HAIR???

Hey! I'm making a group for fans of Wendy Mass and I would be glad to let you in! But it's still in approval stage, so don't join JUST yet.
Loved this piece by the way.

This is truly, truly amazing, but yes, I think she needs some hair.
Somewhat Unrelated: You kind of offended me with that "TOO big of a part, in my opinion" comment. Is the book NOT called "A Mango-shaped Space"??

Thank you so much! And alas, she remains bald
Perhaps; I read the book 3 years ago so maybe I missed the deeper symbolism of the cat or emotional meaning in the book that everyone else who loves the book sees. Maybe I need to go back and read it again to truly appreciate it!

As I have just told you on the phone: this is really good! She doesn't look wierd at all without hair. The shapes look especially cool because they look 3-D. ...Are they? It looks that way. Like I said, really good.

some of the paints were thinner, so I blobbed them on but acrylics are generally thick so that might have caused that effect. although for those blue sparkly swirls I used a real 3-D paint
lol sry to get all technniqal with u
Thanks for the comment! Omg one of friends just gave me an amazing excuse for the no hair thing; her mind is being opened up!! All the colors r spilling out, btu in a cool way, she said.
