Since Heliotrope had become eggbound, things had been going rather smoothly. Sure, there were moments where it got difficult, but Joltex and Heliotrope made it through. One day, Joltex had been working hard doing most of the chores around the house as well as restocking his food and helping out at the Nook. Exhausted, he plopped down on one of the beanbag chairs in his living room after getting to his house.

"Are you tired, Joltex?" a voice asks,

Looking up, Joltex saw the purple Wyngro that was his mate as she had a hand on her stomach.

"I sure am." Joltex says, "Sorry I didn't let you help me out, but I didn't want to cause stress on you, Heliotrope."

"I can handle myself around here, you know." Heliotrope says playfully,

"I know you can." Joltex says, then he points at Heliotrope's stomach. "I just don't want to hurt the little one."

"Of course, always thinking of the baby." Heliotrope says,

"I think of you too." Joltex says, casting a smile toward his mate.

"Of course you do." Heliotrope says, then she walks over to Joltex. "Mind if I join you?"

"Not at all." Joltex says, "Even when I'm this tired, I can still handle someone sitting on me."

"Really?" Heliotrope asks, sitting down and facing away from Joltex.

"Of course." Joltex says as he watches Heliotrope lean back until she was lying on the yellow Wyngro's chest, "I am rather strong after all."

"Do you always brag this much?" Heliotrope asks playfully, placing her head until Joltex's chin.

"No, I dislike bragging." Joltex says, in a similar tone as he gently places his hand on his mate's stomach.

"That's good to know." Heliotrope says, placing a hand on Joltex's shoulder as if to prevent the Wyngro from moving his hand from her stomach.

After a moment, Joltex looked down as best he could toward Heliotrope's growing belly.

"How soon do you think it'll come?" Joltex asks,

"I'm not sure." Heliotrope says, "It could be weeks."

"Well, I can wait." Joltex says, "Besides, I'm fine with helping you out along the way."

"I think you're going to be a great father with that attitude." Heliotrope says,

"Thanks." Joltex says, "By the way, how was your day at the Soothing Sip?"

"Tiring." Heliotrope says, "I didn't think it'd be so difficult to wait tables when I'm eggbound."

"I see." Joltex says, "It wasn't easy for me either."

"What did you do?" Heliotrope asks,

"The usual stuff. Chores, restocking the kitchen, and the Nook." Joltex says,

"The Nook?" Heliotrope asks,

"I work there part-time." Joltex says, "I help with keeping the Wynglings occupied and making sure they behave."

"Must be great." Heliotrope says,

"And it's what tired me out the most today." Joltex says, "Thankfully Cocoa is easier to look after."

"Well, she is your sister." Heliotrope says,

"And the aunt to our baby." Joltex says,

"That she is." Heliotrope says,

"Guess we both have been through some hard work today." Joltex says,"But right now, there's no one I'd rather spend my time off than with you."

Heliotrope blushed a bit at what Joltex said, then she nuzzled the Wyngro she was happy to call her mate.

"Just so you know, I think you should take a break from the Soothing Sip in the later weeks." Joltex says,

"Why?" Heliotrope asks,

"Because it'll get harder for you to work as your stomach grows." Joltex says, "It'll be difficult for you to move around and you have to eat for two now."

"I see." Heliotrope says,

"But don't worry, Helio." Joltex says, "I'll keep things running in this house myself while you take your break and I'll just do double shifts at the Nook. After all, I have you and the baby to look after."

With that, Joltex nuzzled his mate, which she returned with a nuzzle of her own.
