Description
street performer Sylvain, (aka Piko) puts on one hell of a show.to watch a artist working with the crowd is awesome, you never know what is going to happen... my cheeks were sore from smiling and laughing.
a young girl, of five or six, comes from the crowd to shake hands... it's a special moment, you watch as a smile spreads over her face and her bright eyes dance...
all i could say was awesome.

Beautiful story my friend....his eyes have such an intelligent amusement and the make-up makes his facial hair stand out (nose and eyelashes), but beautiful facial shot. Such personality and warmth ...reminds me of my dream to one day mime
...I definately love the name Piko, rolls off the tongue...

haha not my fault that I'm opinionated...OR IS IT
Psshhh no one ever required make-up, it's not like food or shelter, but I get the jist.
Well, there are some places I'm technically not supposed to be, but that's never stopped me before
Haha well you shall have to share me with my Gnomie! Basically you get me when she's busy working
. Or she decides she shall share me. It's always a pleasure to see your work...you are quite talented

i must confess i don't like to take photos of clowns, because they inspire me kind of pity... sorry
yet, i'll continue watching all your pictures of clowns .

potablava! i have such great news, you see, he is mime!
you know i had never really thought about that before, clown vs mime... but i believe they are different.
in my mind i see clowns as somewhat children's entertainment, where as i see mime as more of an art form.
mime is a performer who has mastered the use of the emotion, expression, and movement, the kind we use everyday.
the difference being is that they use their art to show us who we are (in an entertaining manner).
hmm... i may need a lot more time to think about this. : )
i thank you my friend, and i am happy knowing you will be watching me. : ) cheers.

potablava In reply to LikeBlue [2007-11-21 19:43:10 +0000 UTC]
you are quite right, he's a mime, not a clown. and that makes a clear difference.
i have seen some in Barcelona too, and think it's a nice form of art, not easy, actually.
yet, your picture is so realistic and strong, that i can't help feeling kind of chill when watching his so expressive face...
great shot, my friend, really impressive .

nice story, indeed. it's part of the picture...
once more, a formidable portrait. colour here is a plus to the perfect composition and expression.

hello PixMad, : ) thank you my friend, and i share your good words with Sylvain, his professionalism is how this shot came to be.
i must tell you, i was shaking at the time... trying to be quick and good at the same time... lol, it's too much. : ) but he gave me the time.
and yes, the lens too... i'm very happy with it. perhaps i should have used an iso of 400... ?
as always, a great critique and wise words, thank you friend.

PixMad In reply to LikeBlue [2007-11-22 14:57:22 +0000 UTC]
when one such subject is found, one must shoot and shoot, as you did, no matter light, iso or whatever else. chances sometimes are unique... (and said with a 'small mouth': i feel kind of -healthy- envy when i see those great shots
, because those special bits of time can't not too often be captured).
as far as the the closeup shows, you WERE quick and good at the same time, and he luckily gave you the time. , and the lens played its helpful part, too.
no, i don't think a higher iso would have made any (big, if any) difference. to me, it's a perfect catch, with a perfect light.
again, that portrait reinforces my feeling about 'human landscapes', you know.
cheers!

so true Raven, so very true, this man is full of life, and energy, tons of energy.
it's very interesting to watch that kind of energy being controlled by a performer; seeing them sending it out to the crowd and then gather it back in...
thank you my friend. : )
