Description
I desperately need a better title for this. It's about how and why SLR's make better images when compared to their compact brethren.Thank you so much to *lostforeveragain for the title!

There must be another way to get a good Image, There are some people on deviant art with simple point and shoot cameras but they get amazing pictures. Some examples of people include Sugargrl14
She has a nikon coolpix s600 which has a 1/2.33 in sensor size, but she has amazing pictures.

I never said that you can't get fantastic images with just a point and shoot. Infact I say just the opposite in my Camera Buying Guide if you read the kicker section you'll see what I mean.
In this article I'm talking about pure quality, sharpness, dynamic range and flexibility of editing coming right out of the camera to the file.

you know [link] ?
another good project would be the difference between jpg and raw.
I think another reason why SLRs picture quality is so good, is that the large pixel have the effect that each pixel get more light than the small (compact cameras) ones, which mean the iso 400 of an SLR is like an iso 50 /100 of an compact one.. i think you know what im trying to say ^^. i think this makes it very easy to understand.

actually i had no idea about [link]
I wish that their chart was better organized but yes their data makes perfect sense to me and totally focuses on the qualities that it should! Great find i had no idea that place existed!
The large pixel is most certainly a large part of it. I mentioned that in the tutorial even I'm glad that you enjoyed the tutorial!

yes. and i think theres a fault of the companys! they push the Megapixel number and degrese the quality..i think there should be more information bout that !

yupyup, same for me. I very often have pictures like that, with too much black and too much overexposed white in the same picture... I need more pixels
(even though I do have a D50)
Maybe it's because I shoot in alot of sunlight alot lately.
Anyhoo, thank you, I dont like reading long texts and you caught it all pretty short but understandable. Just what I needed ^^

Title... why not what you have up there? 'Ins and Outs of Image Quality' though I don't know if it would fit. 'Ins and Outs' is catchy.
'Ins and Outs- Image Quality'?
