I don't know what happened to Bill Gates when Windows Vista came out. He should stick to making that operative system since it received numerous of positive feedbacks when it came out. Just like when Apple Company launched an operative system Macintosh in 1984. 34 years have passed away, and Apple Inc is still making that operative system. It hasn't changed at all! Instead, it became faster, compatible and stable. If it wasn't for Macintosh, iMac, and Macbook wouldn't exist.

There is this program called PCem that can emulate a whole computer's BIOS for retro games and windows. I have to try it out again.

95 and 98 are awesome. I have a soft spot for 98 and ME, since they were my first Windows versions. I'm trying to eventually dual boot ME along with Windows 10 on my laptop but I have no clue where to start XDDDD

Tried ME on a classic gaming rig that was made out of an old Gateway Essential 433c after swapping out the stock hard drive with the OEM Win98 install out for one of my hard drives, no trouble worth reporting so far.

Had the occasional BSOD, but that can be attributed to any Win9x release, 98se is just as susceptible to BSOD as ME is.

The criticism of Windows Vista came from Service Pack 1, which was unstable as all hell. Then Service Pack 2 came along, fixed the issues, and it's pretty much on par with Windows 7.
Also, Vista will meet a similar demise as XP with support in 2017. Which is in three years. I hope you upgrade by then.

if the new versions of windows in the future are not worth it
I will use server 2008 updates on vista as patches or I will use server 2008 till it's 2020
the criticism of vista began shortly after it's release as some idiots were trying to install it on their Pentium 4 with 512mb ram computers
and the OEMs were no different, they shipped vista with 512 mb and 1 gb of ram

haha
I use Vista, Core 2 Duo - 4 gb RAM
OEM version by DELL.
sincerely: never problems, so good, fantastic, (I've said before, I was lucky, I had good luck with it over the bad reputation of Vista)
I had a Compaq Evo Win 2000
it was very nice, excellent and no problems and as you say:Β people demands high performance with a low hardware? no way I didnt

Having great experience with Vista is not by luck, it's default in Vista to be awesome only if you have it on compatible powerful hardware
I have many machines all of them run Vista
One of them is a latitude d610, with a Pentium M CPU and 1.5GB Ram and Windows Vista Starter edition SP2 and it rocks
I love legacy hardware and Windows 2000 is one of my favorites

Windows 8.1 is good but yeah the GUI is bad, look at this, full res. start menu and plain white GUi? No!
I liked every version of Windows except xp, I think that 2000 is away better than it
What do you think about Windows 10?

Windows 10 is awesome. This Windows 8.1 needs to transform into Windows 7 using any pages like Chris Pirillo. All the Β GUI Windows 8/8.1, not kernel, the new boot manager sucks. I tried windows 8.1 in vpc 2007 and can't install and boot it, says a blue screen of death [Recovery: Your PC needs repaired]. you're don't are a metro fan? i'm a metro ui hater.
try transform windows 8.1 into windows 7 testing any links:

Windows 8.1 works good in VMWare and Virtual Box, VPC has some problems
8.1/8 have WIFI connectivity issues on most laptops, you need to reset your adapter whenever you boot/reboot/wake up
Metro is good, only if you have a tablet...and of course 8.1 has a better core, actually I can call it's core an "upgrade" from Vista's original core, not like 7 which has a minimized Vista core just to make it boot abit faster
I'm still happy with Vista SP2 and I won't Be leaving it anytime soon
btw Is there a utility that that actually works and IS able turn on transparency back on 8.1?, you can leave the rest of the job for me
Just a utility to turn transparency back ON

is hard enable the transparency back on but says a error if corrected installed. is here for use the enable (turn)Β transparency back on:Β www.glass8.eu/
I'm and you still happy in windows vista sp2. I'm angry of slow windows 98 operating system but the system boots in: 9876123471238947219384721:6. but windows 7 is another vista.

thanks...
you say that Windows 98 is slow? how? is it on a VM or on an actual PC?
I see 7 as a "mini" version of Vista, made like that just to use less ram and to boot 3 seconds faster

windows8isgay In reply to I-use-windows-vista [2014-12-20 12:07:33 +0000 UTC]
A old PC. My actual is Vista. But my profile picture is Windows 7. I change of operating system to 98SE and boot be faster. I troubleshooted this problem is because this problem is not upgrading to Second Edition. Second Edition is faster and First Edition is slower. I don't want use less ram.

Windows 98 was going to be 97 but delayed to 98 because of the bugs
yeah neptune was supposed to be 2000 Home, they released ME in it's place, ME was supposed to merge Windows 9X core with Windows NT core but it failed some how
what problem?

Especially when it comes to old games I grew up with. Some just won't play on 7. I have Windows 3.1 on DOSBox and Windows 98 on Virtual PC 2007 (because Windows Virtual PC sucks and XP mode won't work on my version of 7). I still love the desktop themes that came with 98 and Plus!98, and I loved those back in the day.
