Description
And still the raven remains in my room
No matter how much I implore
No words can soothe him
No prayer remove him
And I must hear for evermore
Quoth the raven, nevermore
Nevermore
Thus quoth the raven, nevermore
Alan Parsons Project, The Raven
Another shot from the same day as Grey World [link] - it's not the same image however though they look very much the same - here I have converted it into B&W and worked a little with brightness/contrasts, I wanted a darker version.

Beautiful colours. Totally love the scene of it too.
And using a piece of text from Edgar Allan Poe, very befitting<3

takker!

Great job with the composition and tones on this. The tonality especially - there is a very, very subtle light to the foreground posts which softens the whole feel, while the seagulls provide a nice balance of detail. The arching line of the pylons leads the eye into the grey on grey distance - almost a whimsical feel. My one, very minor quibble, is if I look really closely, I can just see the sharpening effect in the distorted pixels around the seagulls. I'd be inclined to lift these little fellows out into another layer and work them separately, then put them back in. Any sharpening of the rest can then be done selectively. This si just such a great shot, it would well be worth it.
cheers

Beautifully done. The sharply defined pilings and cormorants work well with the soft moodiness. I love too, the abstract effect of the reflection caused by the ripples.

I think that I am sympathetic to what disgraceful 1 said but coming from Ireland I know these scenes really well and I think that you captured a very good mood here in the light and circumstances of the day. Nice comp and very interesting subject matter.

....yes, it was a really grey day almost two years ago now where you could hardly see the horizon - and shot with a small compactcamera....
well, I may work a little more with it later

seriously creepy. and beautifully composed now i know i don't usually crit your stuff but i will this time because i like it alot and think you could make it even better... i know it's dark and brooding on purpose , but i do think it could stand a touch more light, especially with dof makng it all misty (or perhaps it WAS misty?!) without losing that amazing drama. it's just a tifle difficult to look at as it is somehow... ?
