Description In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter, long ago.

Christina Rossetti

so beautiful. is it a graveyard? while the general view is that graveyards are creepy, i find them tragically soothing; all the people who have walked the land before us, and have slowly disappeared as time moves on.

also: christina rossetti is my favourite poet. my two favourites are 'song' [when i am dead my dearest, sing no sad songs for me] and 'remember' [better by far you should forget and smile than that you should remember and be sad]. both made the pain of losing a dear friend a little easier.

yes, it is a graveyard - actually it has been one for milleniums, even from long before christian time there are big graves in this area, one in the end of the churchyard and several others near by... they would bury the kings and queens in massive graves containing goods, sometimes even whole ships to have a good start in the after life.
