Description
A fan art of my favorite character from the anime series Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio: Ars Nova (Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Ars Nova), Maya!I became attracted to her ever since her first appearance from episode 1, playing the piano with such carefree attitude and thus, began my fandom over her. XD
Oh, I colored her in a basic way. XD I'm too lazy to put shadows and stuff so, yeah...

It's hard to believe one of the most power heavy cruisers ever built (the Takao's were some of the fastest and most heavily armed heavy cruisers ever developed by any nation) could be that cute. Maya is my favorite ship from AHNA, too. Well done!

Not only Maya though. The other heavy and fast ships have cute character designs as well. But Maya is just my favorite above all. Thanks! :>

That's definitely true. I love Maya particularly because she's a musician, because I'm one as well. And although she's definitely childish, she's just so adorable that you can't stay mad at her. I hope she gets more action in the anime with the upcoming episodes - then again, she doesn't have enough to do in the manga, either. >_<

I am expecting some good action from her on the next episode. But with the 12-episode plan for the anime, I doubt she'll get more than an episode worth of screen time on the whole series. But none the less, as long as I can see her in action, I don't really mind. haha

Me neither. I'm sorry there are only twelve episodes planned, but at this point, I don't mind so much. The manga is still continuing, and at least we got an anime at all. And for what we've got, it's been actively promoted and well-cast - I like the voices. And any anime adaptation definitely helps publicity over just having a manga.

True! I've read a lot of good manga that has been published years ago and still yet to have an anime. (i.e. Baby Steps - which will have an original anime next year - finally. ;A
I have no complaints with Aoki Hagane as well. It was well done and the 3D animation is a plus.

Same here. I can only wonder how the next few episodes will turn out. I'm in the eastern United States and we just got subs of Episode 08 today, and it's been an interesting episode, tense and interesting at the same time. I have to say, though, I'm sorry Maya didn't get a lot of action other than proving that Mental Models can walk on water like Jesus Christ, and Kongou does seem like a real "stick-in-the-mud." It seems like she's the epitome of a traditional sci-fi robot: she's a machine, and machines only exist to follow orders. Anything else is a "glitch" - a program error. I guess the anime is really going into the traditional "what is humanity" theme, much moreso than the manga is doing, although the manga does this too.
I'm surprised the 3D animation has been working as well as it has, even though sometimes it still reminds me of a more powerful version of Miku Miku Dance. I must admit that I still generally prefer traditional animation like what Kyoto Animation produces when they animate works by Key Visual Arts (like the 2006 version of "Kanon," for example) and often feel that the all-3D is too "smooth" or just somewhat unrealistic or unconvincing, but "Arpeggio" has done it well enough that I don't feel like it's taking away from my enjoyment of the show.

True on the Maya part but I recovered after seeing all of Haruharu's cute sides once again. Although they key thing about the latest episode was about Chihaya's question towards Kungou (which was also addressed to every Fog member) about why the Fog wants to eradicate humans. I am now suspecting something from 401 and as curious now - more than ever - about the Fog's creator/s. Come on, they won't just appear out of nowhere, right? Kungou has a pretty sick character, she's obviously an obviously leader of Fleet 1 and deserves the respect of the rest of the Fog (before, was it?). I like her too. I mean, is there any ship in this anime that one can dislike?
Animation-wise, it is quite okay to see the 3D animation on Aoki Hagane since 3D suits well with CG animation which is used in animating the whole ships' battle scenes. Above all, I think that scored quite a lot in my own opinion. I really don't like 2D animation, being mixed with CG animation which is something really off (latest detective conan episodes and movies does this and it kind of irritates me). Yeah, reminded me of MMD as well especially the characters' joints' animation (area a little off but they concealed this greatly). Other than that, I am quite pleased.
