Edit 2012 - I Kicked my own @ss. see the new version and side by side comparisons here:

well this didnt originally start out with any particular theme. but as i was painting i kept thinking about a luna moth, and couldnt get it out of my head. so it went from fairy drawing, to luna moth type fairy, and then i threw a archway in the back because it looked plain, and at that point decided to 'fly' (lol thats so bad) with the luna moth inspiration and make it a morning/night piece.

quite happy with the results!
