Description When I first played Fortress I decided to write up a kind of blog thing, akin to Livin' In Oblivion (google it) to see how long it actually takes to improve in a game that technically has no learning curve whatsoever. It was to be called ' Project Ubermensch' and it was dropped spectacularly quickly.
I picked it back up during Valve's free play weekend, the result is seven weird little reports on one hopeless Medic player's spectacularly awful missions, to be parceled out over the next six days.
I'm trying to be funny in them, so watch out for that.

-----
Log 1 Notes:
I've yet to see a doctor stereotype who didn't wear glasses, that's the main similarity I'm drawing in this. Glasses, killing things and doubtful doctorate application.
This log might imply that I learned something from my first mission. That implication, I assure you, is entirely inaccurate.

Log 2:
aka Return to Fort-Zwei, aka That Really Long Mission, aka That Chunk of Largely Unedited Drivel. This was the mission that made me pack it all in, and hopefully you'll be able to see why. Good lord, lag. Lag was really the last thing I needed. For some reason this heart-leadening curse is worse on the PS3 than the computer, presumably because the 'net connection is more tenuous, but extended periods of paralysis and subsequent explosions are bad news on any platform. Otherwise business was as usual - massive incompetence and repeated death.

Oh, and the phone number on the last page is not a real number. It isn't long enough to be in any area code on earth, so sorry about that.

It is my opinion that this should be printed into little pamphlets and made a mandatory part of a medic's cosplaying apparel.

If I ever get the necessary 3d modelling ability together to make a Medic cosplay you can bet this'll be hanging off my belt.

Keep it in one of those extraneous ammo pouches the medic wears.

Still, +44, England is Valve? Also it could be a really retarded mobile number

I do believe that you rule.

I like to stick a little English charm into all I do, even phone numbers.

This is a funkeh diary series. But wish the main image was slightly smaller, as it feels like a google map; you have no idea where you are until you zoom way way out. :3
Also, voiceless Gordon, are we given any explanation of why that is? ;3

True, but I was slightly worried about the text becoming teeny-tiny and pixellated if I made it too small, so I over-compensated.
Voiceless Gordon is voiceless because the is the protagonist in a first-person-shooter, who Valve (wisely) decided to rob of a voicebox to encourage players to think of themselves as Gordon, rather than just enabling his escapades.

I love these logs so much I want to have sex with it.
Or maybe just the medic.
Or maybe just the game in general.

Or, maybe, just maybe.... YOU
This is epic, in other (less sleazy) words.

Or maybe... all of them at once? That'd be epic, and sleazy.

Interesting and painful is exactly the way to describe it.
Stay tuned, you'll have a daily dose until next Monday (if my calculations are correct).

I just started my first day of classes so virtually everything other than schoolwork is tl;dr...HOWEVER. When I have some time I am sitting down and marathon-reading this entire thing, because it looks fuckwin.

Har har, you have classes and I don't. For another week. In which time I will be moving to London. Oh-my-god-I'm-going-to-get-stabbed.
Anyway, fuckwin is about accurate.

P.S. what the hell does tl;dr even mean?

I have to say I quite enjoy your reditions of the medic's various escapades onto the body-strewn battlefield. In-game, everything feels so comical and relaxed, yet of the fandom art I've seen, players often view everything in a much darker scene. Makes me want to brush off the ole' pen and ink and dabble once more to feebly write a fiction that doesn't completely suck ass.

I applaud your talent. You've truly captured the essence of the Fortress, lag and all. Better watch that ping!
I have to chuckle and Medic's reaction to the obviously flamboyantly gay Demoman. Its actually not what I expected, though everyone /knows/ that Medic totally has the hots for heavy XD

Moar I say, MOAR! Or I will consequently rend the flesh from your very bones!

Why thank you. Although it's not so much THE Medic's escapades as MY Medic's escapades (which is why it says Doctor_Foster on the logbook cover). There's no real difference, but it makes me feel like less of a raging fangirl.

Ah! Rend me not! There are five more, each crafted from pure plasma, enzymes and saline solution.

This is pretty impressive! Alot of time must've gone into it. I love the little doodles associated with the writing, including "The Face" one.. completely priceless!

If you're impressed now, then...then that's probably right, because this is the longest one of the lot. It was quite strange spinning twenty minutes of gameplay into about four hours of workup, though. Good times, nonetheless.
