Description
With paintings that I have seen both the study and the finished painting, I usually much prefer the artistic dash of oil "studies" to the more controlled techniques of the "finished" paintings . This painting, and the ones that I hope will follow it, attempt to capture the impressionist dash of a "study". I don't intend to do the "finished" painting.16x24" (about40x60cm) acrylic on hardboard

Thanks again. Coming from watercolors, I try to use the sky for the light source -- like the white of the paper in watercolors. Almost never paint blue skies for that reason.

I agree, there tends to be so much more energy in the study - I really love this

Thank you -- alas, slow progress towards the ideal.
