This is more or less a joke on John teleporting all over the plot line as well as when his hand was every where.Since he is a 1st guardian & if I might be correct, John should be able to see with the blindfold on. He has it on because he doesn't have eyes & doesn't want to scare people.(Might be a good idea to leave the glasses too because of the blindfold...)
