Description
The empty blackness of nothingness was broken only by the two figures that stood together. Tikala, her Supreme-form glowing a soft cyan blue, glanced at her companion, Tori. Together they waited, expecting a third to join them. Tori twirled her fingers, letting her powers spark across them, and Tikala smiled.
"Patience, Tori, dear," she said. "Hikari will be here soon, and then we can start our work."
Tori nodded, remaining silent as she contemplated the task awaiting them.
A bright light split the darkness and the two women turned to watch a figure pass through the portal that formed. The newcomer was dressed in a long grey cloak. Tikala raised an eyebrow.
"Ethereal?"
Mistress Ethereal Eternal removed her hood, revealing her haunting grey eyes, and smiled.
"Greetings, Tikala," she said, her voice softy echoing.
Tori frowned. This was not the third she was expecting.
"Tikala?" she asked. "Who is this?"
Tikala smiled gently, reassuring the young fox.
"This is Mistress Ethereal Eternal," she said. "Servant and emissary of the angel, Hikari."
Ethereal bowed respectfully to Tori.
"I have heard much about you, Tori."
Ethereal turned to Tikala, maintaining her respectful pose.
"I bring apologies, Tikala. Hikari cannot attend your summons. There are some... 'Issues', that require her urgent attention. She has sent me instead with her blessing and authority.
Tikala bowed back to Ethereal, acknowledging the apology.
"In that case, I welcome you to our triumvirate, Ethereal."
Tori also bowed.
"If you carry her blessing, Mistress Eternal, then welcome."
"Let us begin," Tikala said softly as the three women stood side by side, arms raised and hands open.
They started to concentrate. A small nimbus of energy sparked into life and began to grow, spiraling around as a galaxy formed before them.
"We have much to do, and the universe cannot wait any longer..."
