For the rare C/7 shipper, I created this stamp.

Nothing against Mama Janeway. Nothing at all....except she's a hero. A bland, generic, hero. I find J/C generally uninteresting , and feel the same way about Harry/Hermione in the "Harry Potter" fandom. The only crime of C/7, IMO, was making most of it happen off-screen. It would have been a very interesting relationship to explore. Ah, well.

How can C/7 possibly not be a crack pairing? I'll provide some evidence.

* They're the two secondary leads. When writers are sick of letting the hero always get the girl/guy, the other option is usually to hook up the two sidekicks. (Han and Leia, Ron and Hermione, Peanut and Birdgirl...)

* By Season 7, Seven of Nine is more interested in getting in touch with her humanity. Who's more un-Borg than the passionate, rebellious, Maquis, tree-hugger?

* Chakotay's "Angry Warrior" story in "Resolutions," so beloved by J/Cers, seems to imply that he's into women who need him. By the last year, it's pretty clear that Janeway's gonna do whatever she wants with or without him. Seven, on the other hand, is an Ice Queen in desperate need of melting.

* Both have overly emotional, rebellious personalities concealed with monotone, professional exteriors

* Both fell in love with someone twice after forgetting them ("Unimatrix Zero," and "Unforgettable")

* Both have gone insane and been brainwashed, and didn't really enjoy it (though, that can be said for basically everyone on the ship).

* As first officer, Chakotay made rounds on the ship to every department, meaning that he and Seven interacted daily

* Both have a scientific curiosity (though, again, true for everyone on the show)

* Both former enemies of the Federation, and possible outcasts once returning to Earth

* Both have a funky thing over their left eye (meh, it was worth mentioning)
