The body's easy enough. But the faces are a bit hard, since some of my characters will have long snouts and stuff.

I just colored the way I usually do, only with blur, and an airbrush finish.

I'd say experiment with both. I have a mix of styles myself and I tend to experiment a bit. Makes things interesting.

I wanted to wait until I got a tablet before I started doing something like this, but well, I'm not getting one anytime soon so I did it.
It was also relaxing to color like that. Though I still can't draw long snouts.
