First and foremost, this is not one of the standard rendering methods that are fast, this was rendered with an unbiased render method. Unbiased render methods are much slower, and will look really noisy at first, but when left for several hours,Β they produce pictures with much more accurate lighting than the one of standard (biased) render methods.
This was rendered on a HP ProBook 6475b, with a 1,9 GHz dual-core processor, and the renderer used four threads.

Yeppers, the more details and lights, the more render time.

Nice. Β However, what happened to the water? Β It seems the alpha is too powerful, and the water's texture is not rendering, but the color and what is bellow it is.

I opted for a more realistic water material, as in, water with no diffuse texture at all. The default water texture is rather used as the bumpmap.

Oh, ok. Β I normally scrap an MC texture, and wing it using bump maps and so on.

Those pillars are unswervingly where I build my houses.

Do you build them inside the pillars, or are your houses sticking out of them?

Small pillar = on top.Β Big pillar = inside.Β I love hiding houses inside landforms.Β So many, many houses...Β

There's something about glowing windows at night in the side of an innocuous-looking cliffside that just makes me happy.

Exported terrain from Minecraft and rendered it with Kerkythea, with some tweaks for the clouds and textures

oh. I thought it was a mod. How do you export the terrain though?
