Hawaii is pretty great. It has its good parts -- great beaches year round, beautiful mountains and palms, fascinating local culture -- but then it's missing a lot that Ohio had -- beautiful autumn season, maple syrup, farm-grown apples and pumpkins... On the whole I enjoy it a lot.

You don't love the cornfields and honey and snowstorms? Aw man, I miss that part. Hawaii you get lots of coconut and macadamia and hot beach weather, but after five years in bamboo town, I've started to miss those simple mainland thing.
But most everything else about my town I hated. I come from Mentor, which as you may have heard has recently had 4 teen suicides from my old high school due to ignorant bullying. So yes, getting out was a good idea. Maybe you should move -- the world outside is pretty flavorful.

Well every place comes with a price. This place is boring and could possibly drive you insane because of it, but it's rather safer than most places.

Oh sister, I feel you. Ohio was boring as hell. Even when I lived in the ghetto area of the island and folks were screaming outside my window all day and smoking weird substances all night, it wasn't, strictly speaking, boring.
