I worked on this for so freaking long. My picture isn't great, because it is hard for me to manage a picture of a mirror polished thing like this that is 15 inches long and 6" wide.So! I will be getting a better photographer to shoot it and will probably post that one as well.
You're cool with seeing a better picture, riiiight?!
Anyway~ I will be at the Wally Allen Ballroom, Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock, Arkansas tmrw and Saturday. Doing tricks for whatever treats people throw my way.
If you come, I demand Sour Patch Kids and Dr. Pepper as my treat.

this doesnt look forged im guessing it was cut out with a torch or plasma and u probably did the gooves with a di-grinder or something. not sayin u cant do that though, its pretty sweet.

Absolutely stunning! I might have chosen a different wood for the handle, perhaps something stained a deep purple. But other than that, I love this piece. When I first looked at it, before scrolling down and seeing the title, I though "Mockingjay?" hehe

Weird but cool - the blade being almost cut off threw me for a bit, but I'm coming around to it. The wing effects are incredible.

It certainly is, but that's the sort of detail that makes a display knife all the more eye-catching. Totally impractical for a working tool, but looks cool.

What really makes it impractical is it has no tang. The way the blade is attached to the guard means it will probably break very easily. This is definitely a showpiece.

You guys have it all wrong. It is an integral, the wing is attached to the guard, d-guard, and tang. This knife is so much stronger than any hidden tang knife in existence. You are like...no way...Sadly, this is true. In most hidden tangs, what is the thickest part of a tang on a hidden tang? Around 3/16" by less than an inch wide. That wing where it attaches is over 1/4" by 1" at the thinnest point.
It weighs 7 ounces.
annnnnd daggers are meant to stab people. They were created to kill people. Any dagger you see now is mainly because those people like them or for meaningless mundane tasks, if that anymore. Unless it is military or defense. You guys should know that I make sure my knives are functional working, art.

I think the fact that it's slightly impractical makes it even better. Stuff like that always catches my eye more so than things that are perfectly symmetrical.
