Lapis man was built by doctor Williams to be one of the robot masters tasked to find the crystals that the secret society needs to create powerful machines. Unlike Orb( Megaman Plusultra) and Pyramid man ( Tier 4), he couldn’t care less about his job, crystals are all the same to him, so he generally brings the wrong minerals to his masters. Doctor Williams sees Lapis man as one of her greatest failures: he doesn’t seem to care about anything and never obeys orders, he just stand in one place, doing nothing while mumbling about how bored he is. He’s dream is to become a musician and travel around the world in a van, he’s actually pretty good at playing the guitar and honestly that’s the only reason Archimedes decided to keep him in the secret society’s robot army. He says that he loves to walk around the mind and hear Lapis man’s melody. Despite Archimedes terrifying appearance, Lapis feels actual sympathy for the guy, “ He’s just a lonely broken man” he says. His presence is somehow therapeutic to robot masters with serious traumas like Energy man( Megaman New Horizons) and Platform man.
His stage is the mine he supervise: where despite all the enemies and traps, there’s always a sweet tune echoing in the tunnels. When Megaman reach Lapis man, he will stop playing his guitar and the regular boss music will start. Lapis man will hop around in a way similar to Shadow man( from Megaman 3) while he throws a blue dust that slows your movements or a regular buster bullet. After defeating him you’ll get the weapon: Lapis dust, a bullet that slows the target’s fire speed and movement. You’ll also find Lapis man in the hub, unlocking the option of changing the hub theme.
