Description
I really enjoyed making the second Shocker and writing his backstory, so now I decided to continue this Spider-Man timeline with another villain: The Swallow. I know what you’re thinking: is this a female Volture? Well just partially, in fact Swallow frequently uses one specific weapon: smoke. Giving our heroine a run for her many as the Spider sense and good timing are the only things that can stop the Swallow. One thing I like about Spider-Man villains, is that some of them are specifically designed for Spider-Man to fight, the Swallow is one of those villains. Her suit is made of a synthetic fiber that she invented herself, which has the ability to make the user invisible to heat vision, making it harder to find her in the smoke, the suit was also built to reach extreme heights: with a maximum of 38753 meters, slightly higher than the maximum height a plane has ever reached. Not only that, but the helmet is implemented with a heat vision device ( naturally) and an EMP device. So overall the Swallow has an advantage in Stealth, especially during nighttime thanks to her blue and black outfit, but who is the Swallow.

Backstory

Marie Aile was one of the most promising young researchers in the synthetics department of Parker Labs, becoming the lead researcher soon after inventing her famous Aile cement: a much more efficient type of cement that could resist powerful earthquakes, which quickly revolutionized the market and secure Parker Labs in a high spot in the world’s economy. But Marie had one fatal flaw, she was extremely competitive, to an extremely toxic level, after all she had lived in a house hold were her parents never supported her, and she brought the fear of being repressed at her work place. She was always paranoid and didn’t talk to many people at the labs, seeing her in this state, Peter convinced her to try and do something else for relaxing a bit, reassuring Marie that he would have make sure that nobody stole her work. Marie decided to try skydiving, and surprisingly, she ended up enjoying it a lot. This also helped relax a bit and improve her work ethics, despite being still diffident towards her coworkers. But after 3 years of minimal progress Peter decided to give a few free months to try to fully relax and perhaps seeing a therapist. Marie didn’t took it too well, as her paranoia was getting worse at the time, she immediately thought that her boss was slowly trying to kick her out. Apparently the seemed to have taken lightly this forced vacation, but during those months Marie starting developing new fibers and a suit, if she can’t work at Parker Labs after everything she had done to the company, then nobody could. So soon after returning she started targeting the coworkers that she thought Peter could chose to replace her, ruining their life as The Swallow. Her skydiving skills have helped her a lot too in moving through the air, and she later discovered that when she was the Swallow, she finally felt free: Free from rules, from worries and for all those people that were trying to took her down. Naturally Spider-Girl started to look into those attacks, even intercepting the villain in one of her assassinations. This was actually the first time Mayday has ever fought a villain and if it wasn’t for her father she would have probably died. In the end in her final attack against Peter himself, she revealed her identity and announced her retirement as a researcher and her new identity as The Swallow. Fortunately Mayday learned her lesson and was able to defeat Marie sending her to jail
