Description
Wow! Two pictures in one week!?This scene was setup to try out some new features of the PIBL lighting engine I am working on, so there isn't a whole lot of background story here.

That's awesome! Well done!
I really like the water reflection that you can see on the rocks. That and the way you did the body, half marked with one wing. It's a cool idea.

Wow, the lighting looks absolutely beautiful!! Your stone texture looks great too. Mossy! The water looks cool with that bit of fog on it.
Oh, and did you make those monuments in Wings?

Yep... the monuments were made in wings.

I would love to make PIBL work for poser, but Povray is a 3D modeling language and I am taking full advantage of that fact. I would just have to cripple a light set so bad if I exported it to poser format..... *sigh* It still might be worth trying some experiments though.

Some stuff requires the deletion of the light set, so crippling one, as compared to killing it, might be desirable. People are always looking for alternatives to the ol' Firefly renderer.

That was why I ended up going to Povray. I can crash Firefly with little effort. It is fine for simple stuff, but I like to define some very complex shader nodes for more realistic materials. And forget really complex scenes......
I have always wondered what you render in? Your scenes seem way too complex (in a good way!) for Firefly to handle.

Firefly! I don't know how. I just put stuff together until it blows up and then remove one thing until it works. Sort of test to destruction!
Actually Poser 7 Firefly renders in a separate process and is a hell of a lot more stable for large renders. The one of Narchi standing in a hangar with the aircraft, battle tank, and 25-45 lo-poly guys is the first Poser 7 one I tried and it DIDN'T blow up!

omg. it's absolutely stunning!! i really love this picture. the modeling, bg, everything looks so great. the wing is awesome too..would've looked a bit cooler if u morphed it into her arm some how.
^^ way to go!

Wings3D -> Poser -> Poseray-> PIBL -> MegaPov
I haven't released the version of PIBL that created the scene lights yet. As usual, writing documentation is holding me up.....

Wow the materials look really awesome! I have been rendering a Poser scene for the last 18 hours but it never gets like this.

Yea!!! Someone else who is waiting to wait overnight for a render to complete.
I have been working on the stone and water materials for quite some time now. Unfortunately, they are Povray only materials. I would have a very difficult time recreating them in Firefly.
Someday I'll get around to making PIBL support Poser lights, but I would have to cripple so many features... *sigh*

Still waiting for the rendering to finish, but it shouldn't take much longer now (hopefully). I could get some nice water results in Vue, but never in Poser. ^^
