Description A cyborg warrior to fight alien infestations...

Playing around with the "alita" body texture I made as well as with some improvements I made to my IBL code for Povray.

Wow! Great texture! Ever wanted to do a similar one!

Try to use it as a bumb/displacementmap too, Iยดm shure it would make her look even better!

Very nice that is a great texture on the body-suit and it goes well with the pieces you picked. I agree on the gun, you may be able to slightly change the colors to make it show up a touch better i.e. blue tinted grey, red tinted grey etc etc or darken the wall slightly in that area of the picture so the gun stands out a little more. I really like the overall look of this, the dynamic pose and it looks really sharp. There is a little thigh collision on her right leg with the boot top but ah well!

Hmmm... I created the armor texture. I haven't decided if I'm going to release it or not. It just won't look the same if rendered in Poser....

taria In reply to Lokai2000 [2006-07-05 04:58:38 +0000 UTC]

that's not rendered in poser? Wow..I'm sure it can still look good to some who has talent.. not speaking for myself in that area. but I'm sure others could really make them look good in poser..

I'd buy a set..you should release them..you could make some serious cash off those...

Wow that PovRay looks like a good renderer, I've heard of it but never used it. Will have to take a look at it.

Excellent work.

Really cool looking pal!!! This suit has some awesome details and those reflections always get me... sigh!! LOL! Great work!!

Hmmm.. I think I have a thing for mercenaries.... As long as you get her on the payroll first, you should be fine.

I'm still working on the suit. I need to fix some "alignment" issues in the inner thigh region.

Only problem is... with my current income my army of darkness is currently composed of three smurfs, a tamed cockroach and an inflatable ogre (i had four smurfs, but one died of exahustion while trying to inflate the ogre...) ... ... something tell me that i'd better wait before launching on my conquest plan...

Wow, very nice. Your ILB code is shining through on this piece. I think the black outlines on the gun and the boots give it a more hand drawn look. I won't ask how you did it, I'll just say, I like this style a lot.

If you know me well enough, you know exactly what I want to know about this pic

Other then that, I'm still jealous of the quality of the pic Can't I just send my scenes to you and that you work your magic?

The image based light processing code I have been working on is really making the difference. Unfortunately, I am not a windows programmer and the current version can only be run from the command line. It also only works with input images that are in a raw format of a specific size. Despite all that, I have been thinking about releasing a limited test version for some of my friends to play with. I have been trying to get the code to write Poser lights, but they never seem to look correct.....

If you are curious about the scene: other than the body texture, her armor pieces come from the Uzilite MOS armor and tommorow sets. The backdrop is RLD7 from DAZ. The fog is a povray atmosphere effect. As usual, I always end up messing with the textures....

Hellwolve In reply to Lokai2000 [2006-06-10 13:32:07 +0000 UTC]

Well, I'm a friend...sorta...I guess...right? I'm fairly comfortable with command lines, so if you want me as a tester, gimme a shout

Thanks for the info on the scene itself The one thing I can't find, though, is the backdrop. Nothing shows up in the search on the Daz site and I've no idea what the abbreviation could mean

Opps... my bad. That should have been RDL7 Holographic Human Interface. And yes, you could be a tester.

Hellwolve In reply to Lokai2000 [2006-06-10 14:30:07 +0000 UTC]

You sure about that? Doesn't really look like the room behind her, from what I can tell of the promo pics

And, good to hear I can be a tester Looking forward to more instructions

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Lokai2000 In reply to Hellwolve [2006-06-10 15:38:44 +0000 UTC]

The room is *huge*. However, I'm not totally sure on this one. I will have to check the description. The holographic interface may be an add on to the main set.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Hellwolve In reply to Lokai2000 [2006-06-11 20:55:23 +0000 UTC]

I think it's an addon, that Interface. 'Cause said Interface isn't a room I'd 'priciate it if you have another look

I did and I agree. I know inner sanctum did the original, but I have no idea where it is available from...
I couldn't find it at renderosity either.

It must be one of the many things SanctumArt tossed away
I guess they're too busy supporting their overprised Pitbull, Phenotypes, et all

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Lokai2000 In reply to ken1171 [2006-06-10 11:43:58 +0000 UTC]

I think the poser render engine will have to solve a few problems before it can render stuff like this.
Unfortuantely, they keep focusing on adding new "features" instead of fixing the issues they already have.

ken1171 In reply to Lokai2000 [2006-06-11 00:31:55 +0000 UTC]

Comes down I rarely use FireFly because it tends to "blobalize" objects and they look like bloated and distorted. Sometimes textures move off place quite a bit too. For most of my gallery, I used the flat-but-fast Poser4 renderer, which as the name says, dates back to half a decade ago...

Trish2 [2006-06-09 22:35:33 +0000 UTC]

I like it too. I agree with the above comment, that the gun blends with the background a bit much and there's a kink in her right shin that probably shouldn't be there if its rigid metal like it looks like. I guess the right boot IS in the right placement, but it just doesn't quite look right with the knee pads in this position. Still a fab render and heh I can't render near like you yet.

FlameAlchemistRoy [2006-06-09 21:26:53 +0000 UTC]

The metalic effect really pops out of the picture, this is not a bad thing it's really cool.

The gun blends alittle with the background near the top, and yet I still want on XD

Lokai2000 In reply to FlameAlchemistRoy [2006-06-09 22:45:51 +0000 UTC]

I was going to add a "glow" to the gun, but I was afraid it woud distract to much from the main subject of the scene.
