I heard this parable once:
A little girl walked past a homeless man, and she asked her father if she could give him some money, so he could eat. So the father said: 'okay, you can start mowing grass and then you can give the homeless man your money'. And the girl thinks for a moment and says: 'why doesn't the man work?'.
The world often makes homelessness clean-cut and has little room for empathy. The system is not designed for people that fall through the cracks and once you do, it is really hard to get up. Sad scene, though-provoking and showing some harsh realities.

Homeless people can be so vulnerable..... it always makes me sad when i see one, makes me wish i could help them somehow.

I saw this so often in my old country and there was very little to no support for the needy. Here at least they have a good welfare /social support system.
