I've felt like this a bit lately….Based on a magazine illustration I did recently… changed it a bit and then painted in a bunch of stuff from my desk. Ignore the wildy inaccurate perspective work… it looked quirky and charming in my original sketch but now its starting to bother me...
Things to know.
• this is about the 7th or 8th time I've painted the plastic skull on my desk… and yes, I have a plastic skull on my desk.
• no, that isn't really me…. I have a goatee and don't dribble as much when I drink.
• painting multiple drinking cans is less fun than you might think.
• dinosaurs on the other hand are awesome!

Its a reference prop I bought some years back - and I've found it a real handy reference as well as a cool desktop addition.

The shadows on the chair are weird looking, and it makes it look as though the chair isn't really touching the floor :/

I paint with the mouse.... and yes, I constantly use the keyboard with my other hand while I paint

Deadlines are just part and parcel of my line of work. Mostly they are manageable... just sometime they can be a bit tough

We've changed the whole system to ODMs (oh dear me) and koala stamps... not as flashy as our British cousins but we feel it reflects our culture better

Yup ... design, illustration etc is always at the end of the process and any missing time has to be made up by them. Not really that fair but it seems to be the way of the industry!
