Was meant to be a simple lineup of characters for the background in a poster I'm doing, but got a bit carried away...How many movies/characters can you get? (click for bigger view should make it easier

Yes, thats Flash Gordon from 'Flash Gordons trip to Mars'. Ice T was in a John Carpenter movie called Ghosts of Mars... as was the Marliyn Manson-esque dude. The Rocks 'shoot em up movie' was 'Doom' and definitely a 'Hell Yeah' for Marvin!

I know the character and scene you are referencing... but this is 'Devil Girl From Mars' and her giant robot friend. They have a similar style and look though.

That's a great looking gathering of Mars based characters. Flash Gordon though was on the planet Mongo or was that Mango,for the movie serial you might be right they went to the planet Mars. I think when Buster Crabbe was Buck Rogers , he definitely went to Mars. The original Mole Men of Mars I think was the serial. Man you basically got them all covered. You should have had the Angry Red Planet Giant Rat Bat monster and the Martian that was spying on the Earth Ship,maybe Iris (Irish),and the Captain from that movie. Again, great looking stuff,always enjoy your work....Peace.....

I went with the 1938Β Flash Gordons trip to mars Flash Gordon starring Buster Crabbe.Β Buster played Flash, Buck Rogers and Tarzan - pretty much hitting all the big franchises of the day.
The martian that spied on the astronauts in 'The angry Red Planet' is standing behind the My Favourite Matian fella. I wanted to include the crazy giant Bat monster, but his scale was all wrong - Irish would have been fun to draw as well!

Yeah, it did take me longer than I had anticipated... the line drawing bit was pretty fast, but I had to do a bit of research and movie watching to get the likenesses.... and the colour work took quite a while.
