Unfortunately, shortly after this picture, he had to have them removed after a nasty case of tonsilitis.

Sensational work.
Somehow you're able to get those photo-realistic qualities, and yet still make this incredibly expressionistic piece.
Your work is singularly unique. ^^
I imagine him singing "Everybody's got something to hide except for me and my Monkey". LMAO.
And I gotta say...the inside of that ear is so fracking good.

lmao.
Not at all, mi amigo.
You were simply not prepared to be barraged with bizarre Beatles reference at that time.
Man, I gotta tell you...I am getting my butt smacked all over the place by this latest cover image. How do you do this stuff night and day without it killing you?
Cheers, you art super star you.

I am ashamed, deeply ashamed at my lack of knowledge of the Beatles oeuvre - probably explains why I can never remember which one was the eggman, and who was the walrus.
I do understand finding working on some stuff a bit, as we say down here, 'hard yakka' - I work pretty much 7 days a week either on commercial art for clients or just art for myself and while its mostly great fun, you need to look after yourself so it doesn't switch from burning passion to being burnt out. I try to keep things fresh by mixing things up when I can, artwise (subject matter, techniques etc.) as well as mixing in other interests, like playing regular sport etc. but every now and then you just have to give yourself a break from it all, so you come back fresh.
And yes, anyone who actually knows me will tell you that most of that advice is extremely hypocritical and I should be at best ignored or extremely scolded ... kind of notorious for not taking breaks when i should! Good luck with your cover my friend, goo goo g'joob!

Thank you so much for both the wise words, and the insight of your experience.
I get by with a little help from my friends. (<----------- blatant Beatles reference) lmao.
You really are awesome, Dave. I know I probably some across as a bit "fan boyish" sometimes...but the truth is that it's so rare to find someone to look up to in this world. And I admire the hell out of your work.
And by the way, you're the walrus.
XD

Hehe, this one somehow reminds me of an old movie "The mouse that roared" with Peter Sellers
I like the "Fender/Loud-mouse" Bass guitar. Another detail that I like is the light reflection by the ring segments of the tail toward the tip

I knew you'd notice the little details, my observant friend! I dont think I've ever seen that particular Peter Sellers movie, but I am familiar with the title, and yes, it does seem quite appropriate. Hope all is well with you and as always, its an honor and pleasure when you come by

Very welcome, Dave - as always.
The movie was directed by Jack Arnold, the guy who was known more for those 50's Horror- and Science Fiction movies. "Creature from the black lagoon" for example
Maybe you stumble over "The Mouse" at some point
